@Davy18933614@vea_eth@lifiprotocol Good question. Hop is designed as a token bridge first, does not currently support arbitrary messages and its contracts are upgradable by gov. It has a gov token whereas Vea doesn’t because there is nothing to govern: its contracts are not owned and not upgradable.
Bridges come in many shapes and forms, many allow for collusion, censorship, fast upgrades, privileged roles for an owner multisig.
That’s why we are building @vea_eth, a security-first optimistically-verified message bridge.
