An expired passport shouldn’t automatically mean a missed flight, endless queues and days of running around.

India has the technology, talent and digital infrastructure. Now we need the same urgency in public services.

Passport renewal should be fast, digital, 24×7 where possible, and genuinely citizen-centric.

An idea for India’s traffic & pollution problem:

Why issue a new registration number every time we buy a new car?

Instead, let the number belong to the owner, not the car.

Buy a new car → transfer your existing number to it.
Sell/scrap the old car → then register the new one.

This creates “1 owner = 1 active vehicle number” unless an additional entitlement is purchased/allowed.

The biggest benefit? The number plate itself can become valuable.

People will think twice before ignoring challans, reckless driving or other violations—because they could affect the value/status of their registration number.

It also encourages people to sell or scrap old cars before adding another vehicle, helping control congestion, pollution and parking pressure.

Change your car. Keep your number.

A simple digital system could make vehicle ownership more accountable while helping keep our roads cleaner and less crowded.

This is what the BJP has done to my party office in the early hours of this morning.

Will the Governor of WB act? Will the Union Home Minister act? Will the PMO act? Or will they continue to look the other way?

It is high time the judiciary, particularly the Calcutta High Court, takes serious note of what is happening and acts to uphold the rule of law in West Bengal.

And one simple question for Suvendu Adhikari: why are you so scared of the Trinamool Congress and of me that you have to resort to this kind of intimidation?

If this is how the Opposition is to be treated in West Bengal, through violence, vandalism and intimidation, then the Chief Minister have no moral authority to remain in office. He must resign.

This is not democracy. This is political thuggery.

• Berry Iced Tea tasted synthetic. When questioned, the bartender said they use artificial/synthetic flavouring rather than real fruit flavours.

• Roast Baby Potatoes served without any dip or condiment.

• Water kept dripping from the ceiling. We changed tables 3 times before finally leaving.

• Second-floor guests are seated beside commercial refrigerators and operational equipment, making the dining area feel more like a service/storage space than a premium restaurant.

• On a Monday, almost every pizza was “sold out”—only the Classic Margherita was available.

I had even requested a friend to arrange a reservation because of the hype.

Shivangi, the manager, was informed of every issue.

Premium prices deserve premium standards—not marketing.

On 25 June 2026, Kolkata received nearly 85 mm of rainfall, yet several parts of the city have come to a complete standstill. The situation on Woodburn Road is alarming, with nearly 3 feet of waterlogging, making it impossible for pedestrians to cross and leaving vehicles stranded.

This is not merely heavy rainfall — it is a complete failure of urban drainage and civic infrastructure. Year after year, citizens continue to suffer while basic amenities remain neglected.

How can a metropolitan city be brought to its knees after a single day of rain? Residents are stranded, emergency movement is affected, and businesses are disrupted. The people of Kolkata deserve far better.

Requesting leaders of the opposition to raise this issue and demand accountability.

Just a little rain, and large parts of Kolkata are submerged. This video, taken near Forum Mall on Elgin Road, shows the alarming extent of waterlogging. Bhawanipore, one of the city’s most prominent and historic neighbourhoods, is struggling under water.

Full stretches of Bhawanipore are flooded, disrupting daily life, traffic, businesses, and causing immense inconvenience to residents.

@SuvenduWB, you once said that Bhawanipore played a crucial role in your political journey. Today, Bhawanipore is drowning. We request you to kindly raise this issue and ensure that a permanent solution is found for the chronic waterlogging affecting South Kolkata.

Kolkata deserves better infrastructure and effective drainage systems. A world-class city cannot come to a standstill after a brief spell of rain.

Staying at Avadh Utopia, Surat has been a horrible experience.

Rooms carry “No Smoking” signs everywhere with ₹5000 cleaning penalties.

But in a dry state like Gujarat, liquor consumption inside rooms is openly happening. The in-room dining staff was fully aware, yet nobody reported or acted on it.

When I complained, the front desk response was:
“Sir, what happens inside the room, we don’t know.”

Then at 12:30 AM, water started flowing into my room like a river due to poor maintenance, and repairs were happening in the middle of the night while I suffered the inconvenience.
I chose this hotel expecting comfort and professionalism. What I got instead was negligence, disturbance, and complete double standards.
Requesting:

@MySuratMySMC to check how such maintenance failures are being ignored.

@CP_SuratCity to introspect how liquor consumption inside hotel rooms in a dry state is being casually overlooked.
