Following the recent, tragic incident of a tourist who was crushed to death under an elephant at Dubare Elephant Camp in Karnataka, and other instances that repeatedly highlight the inherent dangers of being in proximity to a distressed captive elephant, vegan actor and singer Zahrah S Khan, along with PETA India has offered to gift a life-size mechanical elephant to the Telangana State Waqf Board in a letter, for a safe Muharram procession.
Mechanical elephants can do what real elephants do, without the suffering, including shaking their heads, moving their ears and eyes, swishing their tails, lifting their trunks, and even spraying water.
Equipped with a mounted seat, they can carry people, too, while operating on a stable wheeled platform.
Now, more than 30 mechanical elephants are used in temples across India, and PETA India has donated 26 of these in recognition of the temples' decisions to never own or hire live elephants.

@da94630@PetaIndia@DBorauk01 Collective power of many individuals? 😂 chewtiye PETA ek NGO hai. Koi government body nahi hai. They can only work in the limits of law (which allows animal sacrifice)
Chal aage badh.
@VinayPrakash_@DBorauk01 🤣🤣🤣
Jallikatu isnt even a hindu “festival” it’s literally more of a bet game for running animals.
And, Peta has rescued more camels & cows from illegal sacrifices during Eid than the no of elephants from Temples.
Rest of the points do not even prove your point.Learn to use AI
@AmitSinghmars@PFAppf@dm_budaun This is just an instance. Bhot se jaanwaro ko illegal animal sacrifice se bachaya gaya hai.
Aur tu hota kaun hai ek NGO ko sawal karne waala? Tere tax pe kaam kar rahe hai kya wo log… jitna possible hai utna kar hi rahe hai lomde.
The camel has been shifted to a reputable sanctuary. 💚💚🐪
We commend Surbhi Tripathi of @PFAppf and Budaun district police and administration, particularly Shri Avanish Rai, IAS, @dm_budaun, for taking steps to send a message that cruelty to animals will not be tolerated.
