- 76 year old retired Colonel Virendra Pratap Singh Chauhan lived in Noida.

- In a local park, the ADM, his wife, and his government gunman allegedly beat up Colonel Chauhan.

- They then filed molestation and SC/ST Act cases against Colonel Chauhan.

- Police arrested the 76 year old Colonel and sent him to Luksar Jail.

- But after the park’s CCTV footage was examined, it reportedly showed Colonel Chauhan sitting quietly while the ADM, his wife, and the gunman were the ones who attacked him.

- The then District Magistrate registered an attempt to murder case against seven people, including the ADM, his wife, and son, suspended the ADM, and Colonel Chauhan was granted bail.

This is why people allege that the SC/ST Act is sometimes misused to settle personal vendettas and ruin innocent people’s lives.

Ancient wisdom, contemporary strategy.

Dr Kajari Kamal, a noted scholar of India's strategic culture from the Takshashila Institution, addressed participants of #HDMC_22 at College of Defence Management, Secunderabad #CDM_IDS, on Kautilya's Arthashastra and India's soft power.

She drew fascinating connections between ancient wisdom and contemporary strategic thought, showing how Kautilyan statecraft still speaks to today's complex strategic environment.

In a separate interaction with the Forum on Indian Strategic Culture and Thought (FISCT), she explored the shared yet distinct ideas in the Panchatantra and the Arthashastra, offering insight into India's strategic thought and the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

It’s official! I have just got off the phone with my brother-in-law, Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, and I simply cannot contain my immense pride and joy.

He has just been appointed as the Army Commander of the prestigious Southern Command, effective July 1. To put this into perspective, there are only six operational commands in the entire Indian Army, and the Southern Command is by far the largest in terms of geographical coverage, spanning an enormous and strategically vital part of our nation.

Knowing his military brilliance, his stellar record, and his absolute dedication to the uniform, I have no doubt that he will lead with the highest distinction. It is a moment of profound pride for our entire family, and a reassuring moment for the nation, to see such an exceptional and dedicated officer ascend to a position of such monumental responsibility. (The pic shows me with him and his wife Anu at his “pipping ceremony” when he became Major-General.)

Please join me in wishing him the very best as he takes charge to serve and protect the nation in this new role.
Jai Hind! 🇮🇳

A pleasure to meet Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla, GOC @GajrajCorps_IA.

Our thoughts were aligned on a clear approach to strengthen the security grid, share real-time intelligence, deepen jointmanship beyond silos, and build lasting camaraderie between @adgpi & @assampolice.

Together, we remain committed to serving the Nation and ensuring a safe, secure Assam.

Maj Gen Anand Saxena, ADG (HR & Human Rights), delivered insightful talks at #CDM_IDS for participants of #HDMC21 on “Human Rights Aspects of the #IndianArmy – Criticalities and Complexities” and “Applied Karma Yoga for Leaders.”

The sessions offered valuable perspectives on how human rights awareness eases operational efficiency and prevent legal complications, and how the principles of Karma Yoga nurture composed, resilient leadership in high-demand military environments.
