I genuinely feel bad for Cody when I see his current state in WWE. You can tell he just wanted to be the good guy hero but has been creatively slaughtered by booking his heels horribly, long win streaks and just overall horrible babyface booking to the point that he has no choice but to play into this new shit they have him doing. You can always tell when Cody is invested in something vs when he’s just going through the motions of it and it feels like he hasn’t been invested in this since getting the Street Fighter gig. Watching the media for SF and the love he’s been getting you can see how much the experience brought him back some sense of happiness in his work. It’s a shame because with booking writing Cody was genuinely the best babyface in the company.
