Dune: Part 3 would literally need to be one of the best films I’ve ever seen in my life to somehow beat The Odyssey for the Oscar for Best Picture. Dune 3 would need to be historically great. And it might be! But the bar is so high.

I’ve also never felt like @TheAcademy has properly recognized Denis Villeneuve, whereas lately, Christopher Nolan has been the apple of the industry’s eye. All of which is to say that Nolan stands in the way of Denis’s chances at dancing with Oscar.
