@AittolaKirsikka@KennethLindqvi1@PekkaPuska1 Several education levels are established for nutritionists as a health profession different from Registered Dietitians (RD). Lifestyle counseling by a health practitioners also include nutrition and dietetics education, but the most appropriate is subspecialty for MD.

How do different dietary trends affect athletic performance?⚡️
This recent critical analysis examined various popular diets and the scientific evidence on how they may affect athletes.
1️⃣ Mediterranean Diet: low inflammatory diet, linked to improved power, muscle endurance & body composition 🥗
2️⃣ Ketogenic: adherence is challenging, may promote weight loss and therefore useful to weight-class sports 🥑
3️⃣ Low-Carb: may improve fat oxidation, potentially improve time-to-exhaustion 🍗
4️⃣ Plant-Based: likely to increase various beneficial nutrients in diet (e.g. carbs, nitrates), may improve performance but poor protein quality may reduce adaptations to resistance training 🌱
5️⃣ Intermittent Fasting: may benefit weight loss but likely to compromise performance (incl. sprint speed & time-to-exhaustion) ⏰
No one diet is universally recommended for athletes, there are always additional considerations with any dietary change.
Professional guidance (e.g. SENr nutritionist or Sports Dietitian) is thoroughly recommended ✅
