Joliet Central football coach Thomas Hart kept at it, and this year he led the Steelmen to three wins and the school's first state playoff game in 50 years. The score tonight against Lane wasn't the important thing.
Nine years ago, Kalani Sitake was brought nearly to tears when almost no fans showed up for his weekly football show amidst a seven-game losing streak.
Now, BYU football is No. 2 in the country. What a story.

Meanwhile, the coaches for the reigning national champions go home at reasonable hours every day and hold short practices. This is all very performative.

-type of man you drop everything to be at his funeral
-type of man you see at the grocery store when you’re home for Thanksgiving and he gives you a hug and he’s thrilled you’re doing well and it makes you tear up when you get to your car
I didn’t like him on the show at first but looking back he’s so real. I’ve seen too many of my friends that could’ve been great “fall short” bc they got Fs in art and were late to stuff. It really does add up
I don't want flying cars.
I want rivers and ocean I can swim in with friends.
I want food that isn't full of toxic chemicals and clean soil to grow it in.
I want raw nature and wilderness and places on the earth I can get lost without seeing another human.
I want air that isn't "geoengineered" and polluted.
Science is cool. Technological advancement is cool, but I don't think this makes us happier as humans.
Real human connection and clean, natural food lead to happiness. This I know. Flying cars? I'm not sure.
Maybe I am a troglodyte...
NEW: UCLA head coach Bob Chesney on his goals for the 2026 season and whether they've changed:
"Goals are for people that want to win once. Process and standards are for people that want to win longterm."
