Thanks to a grant from @ImmunologyAAI, I was able to travel to Amsterdam to the @ECI2018 conference three weeks ago and present my work on a novel therapy for #breastcancer. It was an incredible experience to attend my first international conference!

Great collaborative work from my lab @veronica_m_rs and collaborators in engineering! High-frequency irreversible electroporation is an effective tumor ablation strategy that induces immunologic cell death and promotes systemic anti-tumor immunity https://t.co/iJjKHba9pG

I experienced some of my highest highs & lowest lows inside these doors of the @IMMUNOLAB, & today I walked out of them for the last time. 5 years later, I’m a different person and it’s not just because I added 3 more letters after my name. #ontothenextadventure #PhD #WomenInSTEM

@IMMUNOLAB I like it! 🍕😂

I’m probably supposed to be professional at #VTgraduatecommencement... I will be receiving my PhD diploma after all... but I’m leaning towards decorating my cap. I need to think of something extra ridiculous so I can annoy my advisor when he hoods me. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

I put a secret hidden message in the last chapter of my dissertation, and it’s probably the most clever thing I’ve ever done.

1) How to train your dragon? Go watch the movie.
2) How to train your immune system? Go get vaccinated.
2) is just as easy as 1), but gives a life time of protection against real killers for you and everyone around you. #BeAHero #VaccinesWork

Bystander intervention is important in all kinds of street harassment, but Islamophobia is very much on our minds right now. Here’s some things you can do if you see it on our streets.

[Darwin's Tweets @DarwinsTweets]

From the names used in old legends, it appears, as I hear from Mr. Cupples, that, at a very ancient period, the males were the most celebrated, the females being mentioned only as the mothers of famous dogs.

Congratulations to Dr. Veronica Ringel-Scaia @veronica_m_rs! She did an outstanding job during her dissertation defense today. The Allen lab is proud of you - well done!

Dissert / dis•’urt/ verb:

To be writing and/or otherwise working on, trying to force yourself to be writing and/or working on your dissertation.

“I’ll call you after I dissert for approximately 5 more hours.”

Looking at the calendar... it’s almost the end of January, which means it basically February, so THAT MEANS it’s almost March! AHHHHHH! #needmoretime
