Trilling to see 12 Black-naped Orioles and 2 Black Drongos sharing the branches of Teak tree after sunset in Kaohsiung. I witnessed this moment alongside a 96-year-old birdwatcher in an electric wheelchair 🥹—even though I could barely understand what he was saying. 💛🖤💛🖤
Although it's a juvenile Taiwan Barbet—a species endemic to Taiwan—its characteristic "five-colored" features are clearly visible. People are far more likely to hear its call than to catch a glimpse of the bird itself. I was excited to see it eating some Mulberries. 💚💙💛❤️🖤
I saw the Light-vented Bulbul jumping inside the shrubs of Taiwan Beautyberry but I didn't actually witness it swallowing a berry. It is one of their favorite seasonal snacks. 💜💚 Kaohsiung.
Good afternoon. To be fair I thought this Drongo was gathering nesting material when I saw it briefly today Kotu the Gambia. Looking on the laptop I could see it was an insect I think it's a Egyptian Praying Mantis.
There’s a Black-Headed Heron with what looks like a snake. I didn’t expect it to be trying to control and then swallow a snake whole.
It’s quite a struggle when your dinner coils as much as snake does.
Especially when it wraps itself around your jaws.
Sometimes there’s such an extraordinary moment and it seems impossible that you could have captured it.
Here's a dispute between Lilac-Breasted Rollers. They're the national bird of Kenya.
My image captures one just as it somersaults and pecks a rival in the face.
Incredible.
This little common yellowthroat popped out of the bushes at the Central Park bathing rock yesterday afternoon. It looked so beautiful next to those berries! #birdcpp
