Implementing the 5-day week now offers a promising opportunity to synchronize employees’ personal and professional lives. #5DayBankingNow#AIBOC@PMOIndia
Bankers keep India connected 24×7.
But behind every transaction, target and deadline is a human being, with a family, responsibilities and a life beyond the branch.
A 5-day week was agreed in March 2024, with bankers accepting longer working hours from Monday to Friday.
The demand is reasonable. The commitment is proven. The delay is difficult to justify.
Implement 5-Day Banking now.

India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.

The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.
At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.
Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.
A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.

Those holding decision-making power must carefully consider the impacts of prolonged hesitancy on bank employees' morale. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia

A 5-day banking week in India would enhance employee well-being and productivity, creating a happier workforce! #Approve5DayBankingNow https://t.co/TFiHnkOd7i
Policy makers talk about productivity while forcing burnout on bank employees. Hypocrisy won’t run a modern economy. Act with responsibility. Approve the 5-day banking week.

Implementing a 5-day banking week would align our work structure with global standards, promoting a progressive workforce. #Implement5DayBanking https://t.co/KrzKOfpbAi
A rested workforce serves the public better. With staff shortages and rising stress, 5-day banking is a service-quality issue, not a “perk.” UFBU has pursued this since 2015; IBA has recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and it’s included in the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024), pending clearances.
Let’s finish what’s already agreed.

PSBs implement the Govt schemes for the nation during crisis; props up the economy. Any shambolic intent of the Govt to sell off banks to crony corporates will be resisted. Recover from wilful defaulters; strengthen PSBs.
