Virtual Digital Asset Industry Workshop!

We’re thrilled to share that The Bharat Web3 Association (@BW3Association) along with RIS (@RIS_NewDelhi) organized a workshop titled the “Virtual Digital Assets Industry : Evolving Policy and Regulatory Landscape from an India and G20 Perspective”

The event witness government representatives, industry players, and other technical experts come together to discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by VDAs and the broader Web3 ecosystem.

As a founding member of the BWA, we at @CoinDCX are extremely proud to see these efforts towards building awareness about the Web3 space.

Interesting how they still don’t seem to have acknowledged crypto or lifted the trading ban. NFTs, blockchains and other Web3 technologies have been lauded. Classic China! This is definitely going to be an interesting space to watch…

This is a complete 180! I’ve had China’s ‘crypto ban’ thrown in my face so many times during government meetings. Hoping this U-turn will convince them, without a shred of doubt, that it was a BAD idea.

Glad to see @Rajeev_GoI take such a progressive stance on regulating emerging tech including #Web3.

Web3 technologies offer transformative tech potential and India is poised to benefit from it, greatly. That said, like any disruptive technology, it admittedly poses certain novel risks.

I am so glad to see that the upcoming Digital India Act by @GoI_MeitY is looking to strike a balance between fostering innovation while protecting users from potential harm. I also want to laud its commitment to maintaining an open internet.

This aligns perfectly with @CoinDCX's representation to the MeiTY on the matter. Looking forward to seeing a draft of the Digital India Act soon!

I keep reading about new chains from across the globe. Rarely do we hear about such innovation in India. Policy frictions are clearly a key reason for that. Japan for instance, is known to have one of the most conducive Web3 policy framework.

Oasys and Astar are two of the most prominent blockchain projects from Japan. Oasys is a gaming-specific chain, and a couple of Japan's top gaming companies have joined them as validators. They provide an option to launch private L2s for games on the top L1 infrastructure they built by using a forked version of Ethereum and Optimism rollups. On the other hand, Astar recently partnered with Sony, Toyota, NTT, and others.
