@SucyBoi@bornposting Personally I think it's cool to see them experiment - the next single player game will probably benefit from these experiments. In terms of why, I think it's just that they got interested in some multiplayer games (e.g. Miyazaki and Tarkov) and wanted to play in the space a bit.
@SucyBoi@bornposting I mean for what it's worth, Miyazaki addressed this directly in the latest interview where he said the company hasn't shifted towards multiplayer, they still intend to focus on single player games.
@wrstgirlrivoli@Allyosaugh NTBTSTM was always gonna be hard to rush at TIFF lol. But he's right, lots of movies you can rush. Many hidden gems too. My friend from out of town has come a few times and loves it (though he benefits from my membership). Sometimes big movies get additional showings added too.
@FateSailor@capybaroness@c0mmunicants Dinosaurs are considered a subset of reptile. If you're thinking of the birds, those are considered a subset of dinosaur.
@andrewgutin@jpbrammer This might be a hot take but in my experience, diaspora have a lot of strong feelings and insane takes about food because sometimes it's the only link they feel they have to their cultural background
@hecubian_devil Curious what you think of this: my wife and I both like ordering either the Iced Peach Green Tea or the Summer Berry Refresher (when it's available), note that we are of different races.
@aedison My wife does this too. At first I was skeptical of the benefit versus just putting one's phone on silent but at TIFF I saw a message that turning your phone off helps reduce the chance of interfering with closed captioning devices and similar.
@lukmac2017@aedison Yes, it's really bright in the darkened theatre even at minimum brightness settings, and it's rarely a single glance. I can often see them in my peripheral vision several seats away in my own row!
@KodyKoberstein@NoirSaladin@strangeharbors I briefly thought the movie would affirm a place for Mabel's righteous anger (even if it broadly wants to push control over your own emotions and a broadly humanist outlook), but I suppose it's a non-starter for Disney/Pixar to do the capitalist equivalent of "scaring the hoes"
@buzietoot@hejvidal Yeah Dr Abbot invites her to grab a beer with him sometime and share war stories and she responds that she'd like that. Dr Abbot also recognizes what she's referring to and he's actually the one to name drop Dasht-e-Barchi and calls it a tragedy.
@SGmymindandme@deerylouwho97@ad0rnai Yes but actors, even major bankable ones, sometimes take a small paycheque to be part of a smaller production if it's interesting enough to them. Not comment on Emma Stone's choices here one way or another, just saying people do that relatively often.
@Fistocrat@MRM94118@AmericanGwyn As I recall, Ana actually used he/him pronouns (in addition to xie/xim neopronouns) believe it or not. That display name and avatar combo feels like some kind of pronoun entrapment.
