One of the main leads Lee Jinwook is a rapist who sued the woman he raped for defamation even after he himself admitted she didn’t give him consent. She was found guilty and sentenced because the rape wasn’t violent enough ergo, by Korean legal standards, it isn’t rape.
Oh dear god. There are no more words left on this Earth to speak about the suffering being perpetrated against the Palestinian people. May this scene haunt every single on of you who have stayed silent as a genocide is televised and live-streamed on our phones.
watching good cinema is supposed to make u an empathetic person not a glorified pretentious jerk, if your consumption of good art doesn't make you a person who understands people and the world better it's pointless

On the night of August 8th, a 31-year-old female doctor diligently completed her duty, as she had done countless times before. After finishing her shift, she shared a quiet meal with her juniors at 2 AM. Exhausted from the long hours, she sought a moment of rest. With no designated room provided for doctors, she settled down to sleep in the seminar room, a makeshift refuge for those who work tirelessly through the night. Little did she know, this would be the last time she closed her eyes with a sense of routine comfort.
"Movies touch our hearts, awaken our vision, and change the way we see things. They take us to other places. They open doors and minds. Movies are the memories of our lifetime. We need to keep them alive." -Martin Scorsese.

I wasn’t officially part of this film’s production, but for this particular scene, the writer and I had a heart-to-heart talk as we at that point have similar strong feelings and experiences about loss.
