An endangered North Atlantic right whale just washed ashore in Virginia Beach - the fourth death in the region this year. Congress recently stripped protections for this whale because of pressure from the lobster industry. Lobster trapping gear is the #1 cause of whale deaths.

Thank you to everyone who is watching out for the safety of the horses and visitors on Shackleford Banks. These visitors were cited BY PHOTO for wildlife harassment. The horse communicated its annoyance (see the photo) and kicked the woman.
Last year, #RightWhale "Snow Cone" gave birth to a calf while actively entangled in fishing gear. Since the recent sighting without her calf, an analysis by Aquarium scientists determined her condition has worsened over the past three months.
