After 20 years of organic management, numerous pesticide residues remain in agricultural soils.
A recent study analyzed 100 different fields, ranging from conventional no-till operations to well-established organic vegetable farms.
Certified organic fields had significant levels of up to 16 different pesticide residues, including atrazine, chloridazon, and carbendazim (linked to declining male fertility), among several others.
The study also revealed a strong negative correlation between pesticide residues and the biomass of beneficial soil microbes. The adverse effects of pesticides on soil health and fertility persist for many years after their application.
It is clear that pesticides persist in soils well beyond their estimated half-lives, even under organic management.
Wow... Haven't been on this platform for quite a while and things have.... erm... changed quite a bit. You can now subscribe to Twitter or "X" for a mere 203 euro per year? Alrighty. I don't think so.
@lesuknight@rushlimbaugh It's worth noting that Rush said this to about 10 million radio listeners, which generated some pretty amazing followup calls. You seem to be having a resurgence these days. How's @vhemt_ going? https://t.co/I9myySHPZg
@Revkin@vhemt_ Thank you for asking. The human family is 70 million bigger since @caraNYT Cara Buckley's article one year ago, if that's any indication of our progress. I know I'll never see the day there are no humans on the planet. Joe Rogan's show with Musk has 67 million views so far.
Hihihi... Always the same standard responses:

"You can start with yourself".
Yep. As always.
a fascinating story indeed... & i can actually agree next to a 100% to what @lesuknight & the @vhemt_ predict & want to change! #StopBreeding to #SaveThePlanet now, because #overpolulation IS the greatest #danger to the earth & our own wellbeing these days!
@Karmageddon67@KenBromfield1@RolandBasilides Humanity as a whole is in denial about the mass migrations that will be attempted as regions become unlivable. Helping to reduce the number of new future refugees is even farther into denial, though it's the most humane way to reduce the number of inevitable deaths.
@xriskology Yes, the peaceful phase out VHEMT aspires to bring about is the alternative to the violent involuntary human extinction that seems likely within this century.
@insects_fauna @gravinpetra@AnnieSchreijer@EffinBirds Correct.

Wow. Just wow.

Some scientists in the country where I'm from have come to the conclusion that three degrees of global warming is much more likely to happen.
