@AS90425047@MaxRovensky The same way all other companies have done it? The same way they had ultrasonics and radar? The "mesh" or "fusion" problem was a fake excuse.
@EMostaque OpenAI just casually has the solution to room temperature superconductivity, productive nuclear fusion and the unification of quantum physics and general relativity and they're just sitting on it.
@bscholl Anybody can say anything when the media won't even identify *WHO* said what. Tehran isn't a person, it's a place. People say things, not places.
@GeorgesGraphs@mattyglesias You should flip that question around, why would anybody want them in their city? They use tons of energy, employ few people and pay almost no taxes. There's no reason to want them in your town.
@scotthortonshow Japan killed somewhere between 3 and 10 *million* people, and somewhere around 2 million of their own people had died.
The atomic bombs killed between 150 to 240 thousand. By ending the war most likely millions of peoples were saved.
@scotthortonshow This is so hindsight is 20/20, Japan could have surrended long long before the bombs dropped, but they didn't.
They surrendered after the bombs were dropped. In 9 days.
After they had been at war after invading china 8 years before.
The bombs saved countless lives.
@PalmerLuckey There's an outside chance this story *was* true, and that information leaker just torpedoed the chances of it happening, since military production facilities usually justify some secrecy and they just proved that ain't the place for it.
@mattyglesias The fact Trump's approval rating is so terrible, yet Democrats can't gain much power from that fact, should be considered a gigantic failure on the part of Democrats. It means many people view Democrats as even more useless than a fumbling idiot.
@DavidSacks Saying you're in favor of Open Source AI and supporting it for real are two different things.
Hell, what of any of the the "open" models actually provide the _source_ that make it possible to reproduce them? People don't even seem to know what "source" means any more.
