🍩 Donuts, dreams, and disruption in #edtech. At #FETC last January, I met two young men handing out donuts—but what they were really offering was a glimpse into the future of education technology. Two teenagers, Daniel Martinez and Musa Aqeel, the founders of @VibeGrade are redefining what’s possible when bold ideas meet real classroom challenges.
Since that first encounter, I’ve seen them again in San Diego and San Antonio—where they had their very own booth and gave out 10K donuts! More importantly, they’ve built something that works: an intuitive #AI-powered tool that helps teachers grade faster, give more feedback, and reclaim their time. It is an essay grader that works on Google docs & Canvas LMS!
VibeGrade isn’t just another edtech startup. It’s the product of hustle, heart, and a deep understanding of what teachers really need. Daniel and Musa are the kind of entrepreneurs who remind us that age doesn’t define capability—vision and action do. They’re not just building a tool—they’re building momentum and modeling a new wave of entrepreneurial spirit!
The future of edtech is here. And it might just be wearing a hoodie, holding a donut, and pitching you their next big idea.👀

@worldteacherman We appreciate your support Gareth! Our rubric system just got a major revampt, to support other formats like competency based learning and IB rubrics. Our goal is to support the teacher to support students better, and I love that we align on that vision!
@VibeGrade is the first AI edtech tool that has truly impressed me -- and I have tried most of them.
It would have saved me ten hours a week when I taught high school history and social science.
I used it to assess an old essay from 2014 that I accidentally stored in my personal Drive. It gave truly useful feedback on boring language mistakes that needed revision. It didn't focus on the core matters, weaknesses in the argument, but that may have been because I used a template English rubric. I assume it could do that with the right one. And even if it is still weak, the goal is not really to replace the teacher but to create a fast feedback stage where the student can refine their work, so the teacher can focus on supporting students to develop their thinking.
Really grateful this exists and I wish to extend the VibeGrade team my appreciation and support.
We built the World's First AI Agent for Teachers.
@VibeGrade is used by professors and TA's at UC Riverside and Holmes Community College.
And now, it works in Canvas.
Teachers have fallen in love with the way we integrate so seamlessly into their grading process in Google Classroom and Docs.
Still, our Canvas integration still sucked. Students need in order to actually improve, is pinpointed, specific annotations on sections of their work.
Today, we're announcing Smart Annotations in Canvas. If you're a college professor, teaching assistant, or just happen to use the Canvas LMS at your school, we think you'll love this.
It's the only grading tool that actually:
1. Saves the teacher time
2. Increases scores by delivering better, actionable feedback
3. Works directly in your existing platform, like Canvas or Classroom.
Teachers and students love it. If you're a school that wants to:
1. Improve teacher quality of life
2. Help students improve
3. Be at the cutting edge of AI for education
You'd be failing our education system by not giving it a try.
This is just the beginning. We'd love to partner with your school to make education better for everyone.
@VibeGrade is going on tour.
Starting in Kentucky, we’re going to be travelling across the country to meet the teachers that love vibe grading, and bringing some sweet treats 🍩
If you know a school that’s ready for the most advanced AI grading tech, let us know.
@thesudhirgautam@ycombinator Of course, we get that! We shorten the feedback cycle to make it easier for students to learn faster, when teachers use VibeGrade
🧑🏫@vibegrade is the Cursor for Teachers. Grade papers 10x faster with AI, right inside Google Classroom and Canvas.
It’s saved teachers 500+ days grading 12,000 papers, learning from their style to give feedback that helps students improve, not AI slop.
