A timely intervention.
The issue is far bigger than one incident or one protest. Real change demands sustained effort, honest dialogue, and the courage to address the root causes.

South Goa: Philosopher and author Acharya Prashant Appeals to Sonam Wanchuk, Message to Countrymen
Acharya Prashant says, "...There was a NEET paper. We are talking about 22 lakh applicants, 22 lakh families. This is not just an incident of a paper being leaked on one day. These students spent two, four, or even five years preparing. They gave up playgrounds, their childhood, the normal rhythm of life, festivals and celebrations... Paper leaks have happened, and we are speaking as if it is an external incident, as if some broker sitting in the system leaked the paper. Papers do not leak like that. Understand this: paper leaks happen when someone is willing to leak it and someone willing to buy it, not just willing, but ready to pay huge amounts... I want to ask: why have we forced our lakhs of children to go in only one direction? Where does this compulsion come from? When a paper becomes such a big deal, the law of economics applies: demand creates supply. It could have been that even if someone leaked the paper, there might not have been enough buyers, and this scandal would not have become so big. But today, if you see, the narrative that a student's life depends on one result, this narrative is being promoted by coaching centers, teachers, parents, students themselves, corrupt officials, and brokers. Everyone is saying the same thing..."

Acharya Prashant's weekly column in The Sunday Guardian
World Environment Day: The hunger no forest can fill
"Consumption knows no ceiling, because the hunger driving it is not for the object at all. It is for a completion that the object cannot supply. Cut one tree, and the restlessness remains; cut a thousand, and it remains still, so the cutting continues. The forests fall not because anyone needs that much timber but because the insufficiency the timber was meant to resolve was never material in the first place."

Acharya Prashant’s Historic Dialogue at the University of Cambridge, UK: Some Special Highlights ✨
As part of the Cambridge India Business Dialogue 2026, Acharya Prashant delivered a special address at the world-renowned University of Cambridge, presenting the perspective of India’s contemplative tradition on issues such as climate change, inequality, and global responsibility. Speaking before a packed audience, he asserted that while humanity has made unprecedented advances in science, technology, and economic development, inwardly it continues to operate from the same old conditioning: “Outwardly, we are more powerful than ever before; inwardly, we are still cavemen.” He emphasised that the climate crisis is not merely a failure of technology or policy, but a consequence of unchecked desire, excessive consumption, and self-ignorance.
Among a distinguished lineup of speakers from politics, diplomacy, and industry, Acharya Prashant was the only philosopher on the programme and was allotted the longest speaking slot of the day. This was not only a testament to his growing global recognition, but also a historic milestone for India’s philosophical tradition. The fact that questions of Vedanta and self-knowledge were brought to the forefront at one of the world’s most prestigious platforms reflects a growing realisation that humanity’s greatest challenges cannot be solved without looking inward.
In this dialogue, moderated by Professor Jaideep Prabhu of Cambridge Judge Business School, Acharya Prashant argued that modern education teaches us how to change the world but not how to understand ourselves. Referring to the Upanishadic distinction between Vidya and Avidya, he stressed that inner wisdom is as essential as external knowledge. He asserted that the roots of the world’s deepest problems lie not outside but within the human being; therefore, lasting solutions can emerge only through inner honesty, right understanding, and self-knowledge. The students, academics, policymakers, and industry leaders in attendance deeply appreciated the conversation and its profound insights.
Acharya Prashant calls for ‘mass education of the self’ at Cambridge ~ The New Indian Express coverage✨
"Acharya Prashant was the sole philosopher on the programme and was accorded the longest speaking slot of the day. The argument he developed was precise. Human desire, he said, is not a technical problem and cannot be resolved by technical means. The questions that most determine how knowledge will be used are almost never asked: what is desire, where do our wants come from, why do we want what we want, and does the self exist as we imagine it?"
