@lashiasn@BigTimmz Emphasis by who Chief? Do we have all the details? The principle stands. As leader of the opposition in 2018, there was nothing wrong with Chamisa negotiating with Zanu PF. Just like Nkomo did with Mugabe & Mandela with DeKlerk and Savimbi with Dos Santos, Raila with Uhuru. Nada!
I have read this post three times at no point did @daddyhope ever mention Prof Welsh Ncube. He has referenced Nelson Chamisa and Dr Guramatunhu a lot in this post but not Prof Welsh Ncube.
Why does it matter and why we're asking? Because during the period when Tshabangu was wielding a sledgehammer, indiscriminately decapitating and slashing the CCC elected MPs and Councillors.
Through extralegal recalls, @daddyhope used to religiously argued that the fundamental mistake Nelson Chamisa made, was that he ostracised the only adult in the room, (Welsh Ncube) the older statesman of opposition politics and the Diplomat Emeritus.
However, it's been more than 36 months since the so-called the only mature adult in the room ( Prof Welsh Ncube) had officially took over as the leader of the CCC.
However, when it comes to matters of national politics, be it be 2030 Ndenge Ndichipo agenda, or Madzibaba VeShanduko imprisonment. Fortunately for Prof Welsh Ncube, @daddyhope will never responsibilize nor demand him to display his agency as the leader of opposition.
However, wait a minute just wait when Nelson Chamisa launches his party next year, @daddyhope will be firing from all angels that he must include again the only mature adult in the room Welsh Ncube, and if he fails to include Welsh Ncube it will be a disaster for him.
However, this only mature adult in the room has been in charge of the CCC, but he's so far failing to exhibit his adulthood and maturity. We haven't seen Prof Welsh Ncube adulthood and maturity in challenging 2030 agenda and etc
@daddyhope Zimbabweans learned in 2017 that not every change is progressive hence the reluctance . If it's about personality why is it noone has managed to become an alternative
to Chamisa, people follow him for what he represents.
@daddyhope The organizers of the protests that led to the arrest of Madzibaba are not mentioned at all in this tweet
Yet somehow, Nelson Chamisa who was NOT part of the protests is left stranded at the center stage
How ironic is it?
Chamisa is now a punchbag who is blamed permanently
I want to challenge you my sister to levitate on a different intellectual plane.
Objective analysis is crucial in informing the masses & confronting the situation as it is, not in a romanticised fashion.
Where did the 'criminals' come from? They were "installed" by Geza & his colleagues. He said so himself.
They already knew who they were installing at that point. No reservations were aired at that point, only now. What's happening now is not new.
When elections were stolen in August 2023, they were silent. Now they are agitating for another "installation" to resolve a problem of their own creation!
They want to continuously dictate who rises to power in Zimbabwe via the liberation struggle template regardless of how this impugns democratic ideals - and the bankruptcy of leadership credentials.
Facts don't choose a side. They are consistent. It's an ongoing process. I have got no control over how they are interpreted by my foes & friends alike.
What's crucial is to find a lasting solution to our perennial crisis.
That will only come through creating independent institutions & allowing the people to elect their own government via free, fair & credible elections. If it fails to perform, they can always vote it out of power.
What happens if Geza chooses Chiwenga for you in the name of fighting "Zvigananda" & he turns out to be either a disaster or another ruthless dictator who then refuses to go just like Bob & now ED have done?
Will you wait for Geza to make another choice for you again? And if Chiwenga triumphs, will he discard ZANU PF or he will have to work with the pro-Chiwenga faction, some of whom, like Obert Mpofu, face similar accusations to those levelled against "Zvigananda."
ZANU PF itself has said Chiwenga used to work closely with Tagwirei during his Army days - including to remove Robert Mugabe from power.
You must be willing embrace the inconvenient truth that Chiwenga is simply fighting to depose ED because he believes he is entitled to succeed him, with the anti-corruption drive being a convenient, popular & effective cover to wage his battle.
He was quiet and comfortable for so long while the country was being looted until recently because he naively believed that not rocking the boat would preserve his place in the queue!
He is a vital cog in the same system which must be destroyed root & branch!
When I question whether ED is as unwell as Geza had sensationally suggested, I am NOT doing so to undermine him or seeking to ingratiate myself with "Zviganandas." That's too simplistic a take my sister!
It's simply to open people's eyes to the grim possibility that they were misinformed (even unintentionally) - and the potential true scale of the real challenge confronting them in so far as dislodging ED is concerned.
Always remember when you encounter my posts that although my unequivocal support rests with the opposition movement, I am a devotee of academia as well, and am prone to write objectively regularly!
If you don't raise your level of political consciousness, you can expose yourself & others to harm for nothing. Look at the fate that has befallen Madzibaba veShanduko?
Isn't that sad & tragic? If someone had explained to him that this is a ZANU PF factional succession battle & he was risking being caught in the crossfire - perhaps he would have been saved!
Geza is fighting to replace ED with Chiwenga - not to replace the system so that power can belong to the people. His effort is commendable but misdirected & misconceived. It's a misdiagnosis. It's not what is needed to rescue Zimbabwe.
Him & his generation have spectacularly failed their fallen comrades & Zimbabwe for 45 years. It's high time this was made clear.
lemme remind you
