Excited to share my PhD story, out in @Dev_Cell today: https://t.co/2yyyL0mHH9! We show that Nrf2-driven induction of the pentose phosphate pathway stimulates liver regeneration after injury. Thanks to @DrAndrewCox, @MAF_Dawson, Cox Lab and @TheDawsonLab members! Incoming 🧵1/9
We are excited for Carmen G. Feijoo's (Universidad Andrés Bello) talk "Mission (im)Possible: Zebrafish Research from Outside the Mainstream" on Oct. 15th at 13:40 at #ZDM18!
ZDM18 is only a few days away and we can't wait to see the wonderful zebrafish community in Boston!
We excited for Ben Hogan's (Peter Mac, Uni of Melbourne) talk at #ZDM18! Ben will sharing his lab's work on using sc-genomic approaches to explore lymphatic development, regeneration and the blood brain barrier. Don't miss his talk on Oct. 13th at 14:30 in Boston or online!
We are looking forward to @sylvia_brugman's (Wageningen Uni) talk: "Using zebrafish to study the immune system's impact on the microbiota composition and intestinal disease risk" at #ZDM18 on Oct 13th at 11:00 in Boston! @ZDMSociety is also offering virtual access to #ZDM18!
We are excited to have Catarina M Henriques (Uni of Sheffield) at #ZDM18. She will be talking about telomerase's protective role in the zebrafish brain and how it is required for blood brain barrier integrity. Don't miss her talk on Oct 15th at 11:00 in Boston or online!
We're excited to have Carine Smith from Stellenbosch University at #ZDM18 in Boston! Carine's talk "Autism spectrum disorder: from brain to gut" will be kicking off the GI and Metabolic Disease session on Oct. 14 at 11:00. @ZDMSociety will have virtual access for the first time.
We’re honored to welcome Len Zon @leonard_zon, a zebrafish trailblazer who needs no introduction. Catch his talk in the Cancer Biology Plenary session at #ZDM18 on October 15th at 3:15 pm! @ZDMSociety#zdmsECI ZDM offers virtual access for the first time - join us from anywhere!
Next up in our #ZDM18 speaker series is keynote speaker Dr. David Langenau! His lab transformed cancer biology research by innovating some of the first zebrafish pediatric cancer models. Don’t miss his talk this October in Boston! @ZDMSociety@LangenauLab#zdmsECI
Meet our first #ZDM18 keynote: Dr. Cassandra Extavour @redmakeda! Her pioneering work in germ cell development has reshaped how we think about early embryogenesis across species. Can’t wait to hear her insights at ZDM18! #zdmsECI#ZDMSociety Abstract submission open until Sep 12!
#zebrafish researchers, @ZDMSociety is hosting #ZDM18 in Boston this year (Oct 13-15).
One of my favourite conferences with interesting talks and is always fun! Abstract submissions and early bird registrations close on July 11. Hope to see you there!

Lipid droplets are commonly seen in cancer cells. In our new paper, @Eleanor_M_Johns characterizes the lipid droplet "coat", and shows that DHRS3 is selectively expressed in the neural crest-like state. Not all lipid droplets are created equal: https://t.co/GUEIVXuzSD
Thanks for the opportunity to share this work! An exciting story is brewing, and it started from Maya Emmons-Bell’s surprising observation where the regenerative microenvironment of the caudal fin is tumour suppressive. Hope to share the full story at the next ZDM 😊
One of the highlights of the #ZDM17 has to be the fruitful discussion during DEI lunch with people from (almost) all continents about various issues, including geographic representation! Stay tuned for our @ZDMSociety@InfoIzfs joint DEI webinars in March 2025! 😁😁😁
#ZDM17 — what a conference 🤩 Thank you to @ZDMSociety for an incredible few days of science (and party)! I learnt so much from all the talks and chats, and was in awe of the keynotes (@LeilaAkkari1/@Planaria1). Extra special to catch up with the Cox Lab 🥹
@LeilaAkkari1@whitefishlab@ZDMSociety Thanks so much Leila! And thanks for your interesting questions as well. Looking forward to your keynote tomorrow 😊😊
