Unelected Prime Minister Billionaire Rishi Sunak whose wife was avoiding tax with her non dom status.....yeah sure "we" are going to get through it
How about the £21 billion in fraud while you were Chancellor? How about your hedge fund mates stopping being offshore to dodge tax?
#NHS staff
Unhappy
Pay disputes
Racism
Sexism
Data sets poor
You name it- the staff are not happy
And there are - literally- people & departments dedicated to tackling these.
Paid by the tax payer
And not a whisper on any of the burning issues
From anyone.
Amazing
So Pret baristas will now be earning up to £14.10 an hour.
New NHS doctors - after their 5-year medical degree, whopping £80,000 of student debt, & life & death responsibilities - get paid £14.13 an hour.
And the government wonders why they're striking?

Comparisons not always helpful but for those interested I got paid £13,000 pa for first house job in 1986 (1:3 rota), equates to around £49k now. No student debt and bought my first house for £35,500 with 100% mortgage & got £100 back for furniture! Free hospital accom & parking
Johnson declared £2.5m personal income for speeches yday
AND yet we are paying minimum £220,000 for legal fees to defend him on Partygate?
Be in no doubt this government is LAUGHING at you, yr children & yr parents
On a scale of loathing them from 1 to 10, Where do you stand?
The head of the girls school trust saying tonight that it doesn’t matter how brilliant or successful a woman is, she is only as safe as her male partner allows her to be, is chilling. #EmmaPattinson
I’m so utterly sick of working with NHS colleagues who toil & strive with such grit & decency while the party of government chucks out NHS ‘pledges’ with pure deceit & mendaciousness to the core. My god the contrast could not be starker. https://t.co/fk8kbwRpgM
@rumannaalam @peterjehle @skierhughes@danielgoyal That assumes that we don’t love our job when we are able to do it in proper conditions, which is incorrect! I would work more overtime if I could do what I’m meant to be able to do!!
@peterjehle @skierhughes@danielgoyal Work is stressful for many reasons, one being the fact we each do the job of several people, it follows that overtime/contracted hours spent with properly staffed departments are less stressful.
@shubh1@danielgoyal It will to some extent though, you need Nurses for patients (in those beds). More nurses on wards, more patients on wards, less being stuck in A&E. Then we need to solve the social care crisis to get people out and keep flow.
@skierhughes@danielgoyal@Nick_Gigg If I do my usual three night shifts and then can afford food, prescriptions, trains, perhaps a date night with my husband then I’ll probably feel well enough to pick up an overtime at the end of that week. Rinse and repeat!
Does anyone else in EM feel like they live in 2 completely separate but parallel universes? The war zone ‘in work’ and then the one ‘outside work’ where no one seems to have a clue what ED is going through. Its like retreating from a battlefield that no-one knows exists
Jobs Board
• Pay for a new paramedic- £21,000
• Pay for a new nurse- £24,907
• Pay for a panel member of the Pay Review Body (daily rate of £350)- £127,750
• Pay for a Secretary of State for Health- £151,649
Warped.
Rishi Sunak says:
“I won't back down on strikes”
Like this is some game of chicken
He knows people will suffer
He knows nurses will feel painfully torn
And yet he, with no skin in the game, is happy to prolong this with no end in sight.
He doesn’t give a f*ck.
Tonight, I’ve come close to tears whilst apologising to patients for the standards of care we are able to provide.
In my 22 years of being an A&E Dr, I’ve never seen things so bad. It’s the same everywhere.
I just hope patients know fault lies with politicians not NHS staff.
