Ms. Rachel: "Where have you been, leaders? Did you not see these kids as kids because of where they were born? 20,000 children killed. 151 starved to death.
A quadcopter shooting a baby breastfeeding in a tent. Did you not think they had beating hearts like your kids? How can you go to sleep at night knowing you said nothing?"
After probably the most embarrassing speech to try and convince the world yesterday that the US won the war with Iran, I am reminded that we once lived in a world when a president understood the importance of TRUTH.
Moreover I am reminded that intellectual capacity is essential in our leaders and that dumb is NOT the new smart, no more than a lie is the truth.
I listened intently to Michelle Obama’s speech a short time ago at the opening of the Obama Presidential Center. It reminded me what a tour de force she is. She never mentioned Trump once, while eviscerating him for the tyranny he has imposed on the bottom 90% of Americans.
Should she ever decide to run for president, I would certainly not like to be her opponent that’s for sure.

"Two million people who have endured an atrocious assault and a genocide for three years including one million children...
Our people are being denied even the most elementary healthcare, education, access to water, sanitation...
These are people. These are families. These are lives. These are children. They thought they were saved. They are still barely surviving...
There is no excuse for this manufactured human catastrophe. Ending it should be unconditional."
I took this outside Woolwich Crown Court just before the Police started arresting everybody.
It really comes over what extraordinary, kind and gentle people the state now designates as "terrorists".
Pope Leo gets a double Royal welcome at Madrid's airport as a girl who is blind gives him her cane welcoming him with other children with disabilities and their families. Pope Leo is welcomed in Spain as one of their own, speaking Spanish and having visited the country 50 times as Robert Prevost.

True #Peace begins in a heart that loves. It is witnessed to by lips that speak words of reconciliation. It is reflected in eyes that look upon the world with gentleness and wisdom. Only the strength of truth and love is true strength. Whoever trusts in God understands this proclamation of peace and becomes an instrument of peace, building it with their own hands.

BREAKING:
Israel is dropping white phosphorus bombs on civilian areas in the village of Arnoun, Nabatieh, South Lebanon.
These are internationally banned munitions — and Israel is unleashing them against civilians.
Britain has gotten poorer over the last decade. Brexit didn't work.
Disposable income has fallen more than in other European countries and certainly more than in the US.
They cut their nose off despite their economic face, a populist, nationalist, emotional decision, and now they're stuck because you can't get the same deal with the EU you once had.
People are done with both parties and they want to throw the bums out.
Now Farage is rising. I've met him and think he’s a con.
Go read his economic proposals — some of them are hate-based, some are tribally based.
Farage's broader economic proposals are populist noise that will make the country weaker and hurt the very people supporting him.
Technological progress — valuable in itself — requires careful discernment of the anthropological vision that guides it and the ends it pursues. If technological development advances without a corresponding ethical and social progress, the result may be an increase in means without a growth in humanity: “having more” without “being more.” There is a risk that individuals will be evaluated principally according to the outcomes they produce. #MagnificaHumanitas

.@AlexCrawfordSky "The reality is that much of the south of Lebanon is devastated by Israeli air strikes.. there are huge swathes of the south which are uninhabitable.. the entirety of the south.. has been told to leave their homes or they face dying.. its a terrifying situation"
One of the most important paragraphs in Pope Leo XIV's new encyclical on AI:
“We cannot be satisfied with merely calling for the moralization of machines — the so-called 'alignment' of AI with human values — without also having the courage to insist on a further condition: the possibility of openly discussing the ethical frameworks involved and subjecting them to shared standards of social justice. Otherwise, those who control AI will impose their own moral vision, which will become the invisible infrastructure of these systems. A more moral AI is not enough if that morality is determined by a few. What is needed is a more active political involvement that is capable of slowing things down when everything is accelerating, and of protecting the opportunities for communities still to be able to participate and ask questions.”

In the era of #ArtificialIntelligence, when human dignity is threatened by new forms of dehumanization, ours is the pressing duty to remain profoundly human. We must lovingly safeguard the grandeur of humanity bestowed upon us and revealed in its fullness in Christ, the splendor of which no machine can ever replace. #MagnificaHumanitas

In order to protect the human person in the age of #ArtificialIntelligence, we must once again reflect on the common good, the universal destination of goods, subsidiarity, solidarity and social justice. #MagnificaHumanitas
