@trq212 It would be helpful to have a planning step of the workflow, but indeed plan mode is less and less relevant. I tend to always run in auto mode, but my workflow still requires plan mode to avoid the agent making unintended writes on the design step
Building with AI got me hooked, and I'm not an engineer.
So far: a newsletter reader for focused reading, a job agent building proof for hiring managers, a car rental aggregator comparing direct insurance.
I'll post what I'm learning: what works, what dies, what surprises me.
@bentossell Thanks for putting in words my feelings over the last year or so. I’ve always liked working on the details of software but never liked coding. Now shipping my first iOS app plus a lot of internal tools at work
agree with lots of what jensen has been saying about ai and jobs; there is a ton of stuff to do in the world.
people will
1) do a lot more than they could do before; ability and expectation will both go up
2) still care very much about other people and what they do
3) still be very driven by creating and being useful to others
for sure jobs will be very different, and maybe the jobs of the future will look like playing games to us today while still being very meaningful to those people of the future. (people of the past might say that about us.)
betting against human's ability to want more stuff, find new ways to play status games, ability to find new methods for creative expression, etc is always a bad bet. maybe human money and machine money will be totally different things, who knows, but we have a LOT of main character energy.
more to come.
@DenisJeliazkov@DenisJeliazkov your arguments make sense. But dark mode is perfect for night time reading. A bad example is that newsletters from Beehiv do not support dark mode. It is a pain to read, either in Mail app or browser, so my solution is using Gmail app, which is not great
Are we going to pretend $750/hour law firms are going to be business as usual in the AI age?
I just used Grok Deep Research to draft a simple contract. Took 15 minutes. Would have cost $2,000 with a lawyer.
When I sent it to my attorney to review, his response was "looks good" 2 days later.
I had already sent the contract lol. It was signed by the client. Thanks Mr. Attorney.
Lawyers and accountants keep insisting that AI is just a toy and real work requires human judgment. Meanwhile, their billable hours model is silently imploding.
I've watched this pattern play out before. First comes denial. Then "it only works for simple stuff." Then "it can't handle nuance." Finally, massive restructuring.
Law firms won't disappear, but the pyramid of junior associates doing document review and contract drafting is evaporating overnight. What nobody's talking about is how the next generation will learn when the entry-level jobs that have always been the training ground are precisely what AI does best.
I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest shock to law firms comes when their own clients start bringing AI-drafted documents to meetings and just asking for quick reviews.
The real change won't be dramatic - it'll be the slow realization that clients are paying for 1 hour of work instead of 10, while still getting the same outcome.
It'll be death by a thousand cuts as more routine legal work gets handled by in-house teams with AI assistance.
We're watching the complete reinvention of professional services happen in real-time, and pretending nothing will change.
"The EU is great at regulating industries it doesn't have."
Meanwhile, the US and China race ahead.
This isn't just about AI.
It's about Europe's deepening innovation crisis...
A continent that once led the scientific revolution now leads in paperwork.
Startup CEO who just closed his first $400K enterprise contract by promising something that doesn’t exist to a Fortune 500, and the founding engineer who has 7 days to build it
I'm German.
16 years ago, the EU and US economies were neck and neck.
Today, the US economy is 50% larger than the entire EU combined.
Here's the devastating truth behind Europe's ongoing economic suicide 🧵:
