In this excerpt from the latest snippet, Prannoy Roy (@PrannoyRoy7749) analyses reported voter deletion rates in Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Karnataka. He raises concerns about eligible voters being unable to cast their ballots unless their names are restored.

What is the purpose of higher education in the age of AI?
I had a very candid conversation with my students about pedagogy, universities, and what needs to change.
Sharing it here to hear what others think. The link for the full talk is in the first reply.
The perils of playing IPL on lifeless pitches, smashing helpless bowlers without fear or mercy & becoming IPL Hulks! And then struggling in decent pitches abroad! #IndvsIRE
In any other country (even 3rd world like us, forget a country claiming to be a Vishwaguru), even a single such incident in a year would have caused massive uproar.
But for us, it’s probably 50th case in this year of being killed by the all-pervasive corruption-nexus of govt, IAS, and business.
Nothing will change and next time it would you be you or me or our families perishing in this hellhole created by cruel systems.
With agentic slop, we are trading software reliability for shipping velocity and calling it progress. It isn't. Systems are more fragile than ever, and engineers building them no longer trust their code to hold up in real-world edge cases.
I am pro-AI, but this will backfire - big time.
I'm not very happy with the code quality and I think agents bloat abstractions, have poor code aesthetics, are very prone to copy pasting code blocks and it's a mess, but at this point I stopped fighting it too hard and just moved on. The agents do not listen to my instructions in the AGENTS.md files. E.g. just as one example, no matter how many times I say something like:
"Every line of code should do exactly one thing and use intermediate variables as a form of documentation"
They will still "multitask" and create complex constructs where one line of code calls 2 functions and then indexes an array with the result. I think in principle I could use hooks or slash commands to clean this up but at some point just a shrug is easier.
Yes I think LLM as a judge for soft rewards is in principle and long term slightly problematic (due to goodharting concerns), but in practice and for now I don't think we've picked the low hanging fruit yet here.
Vibe coding is creating overconfident engineers. (a rant)
We used to debate architecture. Tradeoffs. Patterns. We had opinions about systems, if not, we used to study them. Now we read the AI output, it looks reasonable, we ship it. Without even thinking of other options.
We are losing the habit of even asking the question. System thinking is a muscle. And muscles atrophy.
There is a difference between an engineer who uses AI and an engineer who has outsourced their thinking to it.
Most of us cannot tell which one we have become!
