This is a male-dominated society. From a sexual perspective, a man really has only one thing to offer, so if they kiss, it's not considered a big deal. But a woman has much more that can be sexually exploited or objectified. Even a hug can feel far more intimate from a woman's point of view. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this perfectly, but I hope people understand that, in general, women are far more vulnerable to sexual exploitation by men.
