Now I'm not saying Kyler is a great QB. I'm not saying he's going to lead the Vikings to a SB.

However, Kyler has played very solid his last two games. He's playing good enough that if the Defense stays this good they do have a chance to win a SB. With JJ McCarthy they didn't have a chance. With Darnold, they didn't have a chance (Because the defense wasn't this good). They never had a chance with Kirk because the defense wasn't good enough.

If Trent Dilfer, Nick Foles, and Jalen Hurts can win a SB behind a great defense, so can Murray. Is it likely? NO. But it's a formula that's happened to work before.

If you watched that Saints game and still think JJ McCarthy gives the Vikings everything Kyler Murray does, we watched different football games.

Free rusher? Kyler escapes. Protection breaks down? Kyler creates. Third down looks dead? Kyler moves the chains.

With both starting offensive linemen on the left side unavailable, that ability mattered enormously.

This wasn’t just a quarterback benefiting from his surroundings. This was a quarterback rescuing plays his surroundings couldn’t protect.
