@OptionWell The simple problems are made complicated by the human ego and tribalism. The ego of the tribe creates conflict where none exists. Resolve then becomes a part of the tribal attempt to stay relevant. Humanism perhaps can be saved by AI which has no ego.

@HartoshSinghBal Yes. It was Nirgun Nath Panthism and Sufism from Persia which are components of modern day Sikhism. Little or no Islamic or Vedic influence in original Punjab. Nathpanthism came from Buddhism and Sufism from Persia. Punjab was part of Persia during Buddhist times.

@sabeer There are a lot of privileged Indians beyond that limitation. Unfortunately cultural conditioning prevents them from using their hands or thinking beyond self imposed boundaries. The inability to change prevents innovation. You have to be a revolutionary.

@AudreyTruschke @fawadchaudhry According to the “division of treasures” section in the Liaqat Ali-Nehru partition pact, treasures would be divided based upon geography rather than religion. Since Pakistans claim is stronger, India never made a formal request as it would have to give it to them as per treaty.

@ambkcsingh Sikhs have stood with both Hindus and Muslims in racist attacks against them. It’s the Hindus and Muslims who are at each others throats. We sikhs need to stay away from their childish conflict.

@Rani2009 @SidHimachal Yes but the vast majority of the Khatri community were absorbed into Vedic Hinduism. A myth was propagated that they were Kshatriya and they slowly left Nanak. Evidence proved otherwise. Like Jats they were Buddhist tribes who migrated from Central Asia. A small number are Sikhs.

@swatiatrest Unfortunately most Indians treat Punjabi with disrespect. It’s promoted as a language of jokers. Do people who migrate to Punjab try to learn and respect Panjabi in the same way? Unknown to many it is a language rich in poetry and thought.

@sabeer Religion is India’s bane. It has kept people in a state of superstition, casteism and fanaticism. History has become a feel good narrative in which a version of fantasy is considered truth.

@ambkcsingh Trump will be able to eventually stop Israel from bombing. The problem for the talks is the charging of tolls by the Iranians for safe passage. Trump will have to accept it and probably get some deal on nuclear material. Win for Iran and Pakistan.
