What I gathered after talking to locals: a girl named Anju Gupta took admission in Shibli college of Azamgarh in BSc Honors course 3 years ago

But her classmate influenced her to read kalma and convert, and then introduced him to a man from her community

The girl left her house and started living with him

Two days ago, she was found roaming in streets in unstable mental condition saying - please provide a room for namaz

Locals talked to her and then called police. A day later, her family was reached and they came to take her back, saying they don’t want to file complaint against anyone

But we have asked for a deeper investigation

Such cases are rising. And citing such cases, Indira Jaisingh told the Supreme Court in a POCSO-related matter that age of consent for girls should be lowered so that adult men are not prosecuted for such “consensual” relationships

Imagine the scale of schoolgirls being lured and exploited if age of consent is indeed lowered
