As much as it’s valuable to talk to climate people, it’s just as helpful to talk to hvac installers, land owners, city planners, supply chain heads, and the zillions of other people who don’t work in climate directly but need to be bought in for the transition to happen faster.

This post by @fredwilson is EVERYTHING.
We need to change minds on climate, energy policy, mental health, vaccination, and so much more.

@steveressler Partially agree. As a chess player growing up, one of my favorite games was where Botvinnik, the World Champion, placed a bishop in a powerful position. He “didn’t know precisely how it would help him win, but he was certain of its long term influence.” Long term strategy counts.
@billclerico I’m going deep on this personally. Changing hearts and minds on climate is the kingpin issue of our generation. Check out @jjacobs22 interview with @BenjiBacker when u can.
In the past three years, I've connected with hundreds of passionate people working every day to work on climate...
But there was always an air of DOOM AND GLOOM.
No more. This is the most positivity I have ever seen from the climate community.
We now have a REAL SHOT!
The Inflation Reduction Act is the biggest climate bill in the history of our nation.
But one of the largest impacts has NOTHING to do with any of the policies.
It's the ENERGY and OPTIMISM this bill just created in the climate community!
According to @JesseJenkins and crew, the IRA will deliver 1 gigaton of CO2 reductions. I predict though that we blow beyond. Tech has a long history of going low and then suddenly going fast. This bill will create momentum that will feed on itself.
