This week, 16 of our regions were under attack. During that time alone, the Russians launched around 1,900 drones, nearly 1,600 aerial bombs, and 144 missiles of various types, including ballistic missiles. Today, Sumy was struck by aerial bombs. In Brovary, one person was killed in a drone strike, and six people were injured. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region remain under constant attack. Overnight, Russia also struck the Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro regions. This week, more than 1,500 sites have been damaged, including hundreds of ordinary residential buildings.

A significant number of Russian enterprises working to sustain these attacks by producing components for drones, missiles, and guided aerial bombs have still not been sanctioned. That is why the aggressor is investing more and more in its ballistic weapons capability and is trying to ramp up production. Pressure is needed on every segment of Russia's defense-industrial complex, and that is exactly the pressure that will ultimately help reduce the number of attacks against our people. Since last night, response efforts have been underway in Kyiv and the surrounding region following Russia’s strike. There were numerous fires across the city. Seven districts were affected, and, as usual, the Russians struck ordinary residential buildings. Eighteen residential buildings, a school, the Lithuanian Embassy, and infrastructure facilities were damaged. As of now, nine people have been reported killed in this attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Dozens of people were injured. Medical teams are helping everyone who needs it.

Overnight, the Russians launched 35 missiles at Ukraine, including 27 ballistic missiles, as well as 185 attack drones of various types. Kyiv was the primary target, but strikes also hit the Dnipro, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions. Only one ballistic missile was intercepted, simply because there are no interceptors for the Patriot systems. And it is this shortage of ballistic missile interceptors that only encourages Russia to launch such attacks that take human lives.

It is critical that partners hear that these capabilities are needed not somewhere in stockpiles for hypothetical scenarios, but here and now, to contain and stop the Russian war in Ukraine. Every package of ballistic missile interceptors saves the lives of our people. And every night without them results in more casualties. I thank everyone who is working to strengthen our defenses.

💔 In the home where Russia killed an entire family of nine today, rescuers found one survivor — the family’s dog.

The strike hit the village of Radushne, near Kryvyi Rih. The parents, their seven children, and a young grandchild were inside the house when the Russian missile struck.

His wife spent years searching for answers. She recognized him in a russian propaganda video. Freed POWs later told her what had happened behind bars: torture, broken ribs, relentless pain.

Romania has recalled its ambassador to Moscow for consultations and expelled a Russian diplomat after repeated Russian drone incursions into its airspace, including Shahed drones.

Romanian authorities said the move followed multiple airspace violations by Russian drones. Most recently, on July 27, a Romanian F-16 fighter jet shot down an unidentified drone over the country’s territorial waters near the Sulina–Chilia area, the third such interception in three days.

🚨 Bet varbūt viņas tulka pakalpojumus izmantos kāda valsts iestāde – kas to lai zina. Šāds cilvēkkapitāls ir reta vērtība, un cilvēkus ar Baltijas valodu zināšanām krievijā vienmēr ir augstu vērtējuši.

🤦🏻‍♂️ Tikmēr Saeima tā arī nav pieņēmusi lēmumu neatzīt diplomus, kas izdoti orkistānā pēc 2022. gada 24. februāra. Par to tika diskutēts jau pagājušā gada pavasarī, taču līdz reāliem soļiem, kā tas bieži notiek, lieta tā arī nenonāca.
