It has become a usual practice by many of seasoned market participants to bash the sheer quantity of IPOs as one of the main indicators of a bubble in the stock market that may burst at any time. (1/n)
Mutual Fund outperformance does not persist. Even if you look at long term performance. Winners rotate. A portfolio of active funds gets dragged down to the market (index) return over time. Yet too many people try to play this game. Spending hours on fund comparison. Look beyond it to asset classes.
@b50 It's nothing new, the "advisors" (unregistered obviously) are always recommending investment allocation based on last 12/24 months return which is one of the most naive ways to select an investment. Its momentum based advice disguised as diversification.
@Trendulkar If "stock market is the barometer of economy", then effectively retirement plan will then need to be asked from all participants of the economy.

@WeekendInvestng The rich have a minor position size here, so they can continue this trade. The not so rich have to put all their eggs in this one basket, hence are right in thinking twice about it, if thought of as an investment.
If it's not possible to replicate then it should be compared with the odd penny stock going 100-200x every year.
Remember, if it's not possible to replicate, it's not investing!
American company products that Indians use everyday:

- Whatsapp (meta)
- Netflix
- Amazon
Indian company products that Americans use:
- 🫤
But, somehow we think that Indian stock market is superior. It is not: open your eyes and read the writing on the wall.
Make your investment moves accordingly.
Not saying you should not invest in India.
But, not having any sensible exposure to American stocks is not a smart strategy.
