Day 1 of the #EUCancerMission Fair 🇪🇺 brought together patient voices, policymakers & researchers in Warsaw — with collaboration at the core.
Keynotes, workshops, art, advocacy and research- all centred around citizen and patient engagement.
@AlCRIproject, @Researchirel The Blossoming: 77 Million Years in the Making — an exhibit by @vincentdevine — captured the cancer research journey through art + science.

The inspirational @SiobhanGaynor on our collaboration for The Blossoming in @DundrumTC. These exhibitions are trying to dissolve barriers around talking about cancer and diagnosis. The feedback has been overwhelming. Special thanks to @WaterfordMafia@AlCRIproject@Researchirel
Day 6 of The Blossoming exhibition at @DundrumTC – another successful day bringing together a wonderfully diverse crowd!
We welcomed sci-fi fans, oncologists, art lovers, carers, teachers, and many others eager to buy the artwork (though, unfortunately, it’s not for sale!). People have asked us why we’re doing this exhibition. There are many reasons, but perhaps the simplest is that a picture can tell a thousand words. Sometimes, it conveys what words cannot – sparking curiosity, encouraging empathy, and inviting us to reflect.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today!

So much looking forward to unveiling this work! So much hard graft and imagination has gone into this from the amazing @vincent_devine and a host of cancer researchers across the island of Ireland and those with a lived experience of cancer…An amazing visual feast awaits
This is an amazing work of art which I had the great pleasure of working closely with Vincent on the concept and messages within. Critically, it is informed by key conversations with those working on and affected by cancer across the island of Ireland and further afield
Today, on #WorldCancerResearchDay, we’re using the powerful symbolism of 'Crann Comhair', a commissioned painting by @vincent_devine that reflects AICRI’s mission of collaboration in cancer research.
This artwork represents the combined efforts of researchers, clinicians, and advocates across the island of Ireland and worldwide.
As we mark this day, Crann Comhair reminds us that real progress happens when we work together.
The painting’s elements highlight key aspects of our work:
🌳 The central tree = collaboration
🌷 Wildflowers = patients at the centre
🌬️ Lung-shaped trees = lung cancer research
⚖️ Face-shaped trees = equity in care
