#threejs continues to impress me - protoyping some rapid-response frameworks for visualising ais data that doensn't rely on overnight renders 😅! I'm always fascinated by the pattern of activity in busy shipping locations - good candidates to test the tool! #ais#dataviz
Devlog #11 - #ThreejsJourney Challenge
Lots of invisible work today. Specs, UI rethinking, gameplay balancing, weapon overhaul, stats mechanics. Pretty happy with the outcome, I'll show you very soon!
But I can show you something new: performance issues, you can see the freezes and fps drops !
This is the main issue with Bullet Heaven's type games actually and this is why Vampire Survivors can take down your phone battery even if it's a "simple" 2D game!
I did some optimisations already but I'll need to review (Claude Code especially) and find opportunities to optimise further!
Next week: optimization, final features and playable link before challenge ends!
i keep making map apps and it's so much fun. one another ai studio experiment that shows dinosaur fossil sites around the world.
pick your favorite dinosaur, get a vintage-style map to see where they've been found across the world, the full field survey record with weight class, bite force, the works. aesthetic i was going for = a 1920s expedition archive.
follow up with the second prompt "Twelve principles of animation", I made a silly dancefloor to show the different principles, also added some insights, some are actually very hard to render ^^'

Nerding hard on digital gardens, personal wikis, and experimental knowledge systems with @_jonesian today.
We have an epic collection going, check these out...

Proof that #threejs is also awesome with 2D content! 💪 With the recent integration of #WebGPU and #TSL, we currently render about 2945 imgs from a texture atlas with tsl for a timeline visualization for the #cranach digital archive. (WIP)
I design apps for a living.
But I've never seen ANYTHING like the @notboring apps.
They're redefining what "good design" means with physics, weight & movement.
Let me show you how they make their apps feel alive (and what designers & founders can steal from them): 🧵
In 2022 I published a @codrops tutorial on how to code an on-scroll folding cardboard box
Since then, I’ve made a few commercial projects with box configurators, and it's always so fun!
I'm using @threejs & @greensock, sometimes r3f (on the video)

Apple taught me:
Stand up for your work and show it with clarity and confidence.
Have an opinion. Your POV, talent and style matters and is wanted and needed in the marketplace.
Sweat and present details. Lean on taste + simplicity.
Be easy to work with.
