On April 22, 2018, James Shaw Jr. walked into a Waffle House in Antioch, Tennessee, expecting nothing more than breakfast. Minutes later, g*nfire erupted inside the restaurant.

Four people had already lost their lives, and the g*nman was still carrying an AR-15 style rifle. Most people would have run. Shaw made a split-second decision that changed everything.

Unarmed and acting purely on instinct, Shaw charged the g*nman. He grabbed the rifle by its burning hot barrel with his bare hands and fought to take control of the weapon.

His hands were badly burned, but he refused to let go until the rifle was out of the attacker's hands. The g*nman fled, and Shaw's extraordinary courage almost certainly prevented even more innocent people from being k*lled.
The country praised him as a hero, but Shaw never accepted that title.

He said he was simply trying to survive and protect the people around him. Instead of seeking fame, he launched a fundraiser that collected more than $200,000 for the victims' families. He continued speaking about healing, kindness, and supporting communities affected by violence.

Today, the headlines have faded, and many people no longer remember the man who risked everything for complete strangers. But courage like James Shaw Jr.'s should never be forgotten.

You need to know this: The Stock markets are now run by algorithms and machines and sentiment analysis models.

These Sentiment models do NOT read a sentence and decide whether it is true. They read who said it, then apply a source authority weight. A head of state carries the highest multiplier in the stack, and no analyst thread will ever match it.

So when the line is that the "Strait is open", that talks are advancing, that normalization is close, the machine does not verify the claim.

It measures that the claim was made, by whom, and how fast it travelled.

Tens of millions of followers plus news channels pickup registers as breadth. Breadth gets read as confirmation. Crude, tanker rates, war risk premiums and defense names reprice inside seconds.

Verification lands hours later, sometimes days. By then the position is closed and the correction moves nothing.

Markets have always moved on information. What is new is that they now move on attribution, and the machinery, AI and sentiment analysis cannot tell the difference between a fact and a well sourced assertion.

Oil still cannot get through the strait of hormuz but the AI does not consider that, it considers that Trump (the actual President of the United States issued the statement and that statement gets ranked the highest, because all news channels and media channels start to report on it).

The Washington Post editorial board accuses me of a conflict of interest that might bias me against Big Pharma, whose interests they apparently seek to protect. The alleged conflict comes from money I supposedly made from a settlement in a lawsuit against Merck for injuries caused by its Gardasil vaccine. The problem is that I never received a penny from the Merck Gardasil settlement, and neither has my son nor anyone else in my family.

Before taking office, I relinquished any interest in potential Gardasil fees back to the Wisner Baum law firm, which publicly confirmed this during my confirmation process. Yet @SenWarren, @Reuters, and @washingtonpost editorial board — in their ardor to protect Big Pharma — continue to push a false narrative that makes Big Pharma the victim and me the mendacious villain. They should correct the record — and spend more time examining the real conflicts that have long disabled the regulatory function of my Department, all of which I am now deconstructing.

My story about pulling our son out of NC public schools to homeschool him reached far more people than I expected.

So I owe you the full explanation. Fair warning: it's worse than you think.

1) My son was in a class with many kids that could not speak the English language.

Zero English. None. Not a word.

You might be asking yourself... well, how did lessons occur in the classroom?

I'm glad you asked.

In fact, the way the teachers communicated with the Spanish-speaking only students was by using their personal iPhones as translators, speaking instructions into the iPhones, and the iPhones spitting out the Spanish instructions to the Spanish-speaking students, and then the Spanish-speaking students speaking Spanish into the iPhones, and the English questions/answers coming are read out for the teacher.

If you're exhausted just reading that...good. Now hold that feeling.

Imagine you’re an English-speaking student sitting in that same classroom, like my 5 year old son was.

Every lesson is interrupted while translations happen and naturally, the teacher’s attention is constantly divided.

The pace of learning slows DRAMATICALLY for everyone else.

The consequence is that the classroom stops being optimized for the students who can already understand the instruction and instead becomes an exercise in overcoming a language barrier that never should have existed inside an American, English-language classroom in the first place.

A place built to teach kids who are ready to learn quietly becomes a place mostly occupied with bridging a gap in language.

I don't think my five-year-old should spend one irretrievable year of his early schooling waiting at that bridge.

2) I saw the writing on the wall for the future of my county's school system and realized that not only was the future incredibly bleak, but downright aggressively woke in a way words fail to describe.

For multiple months, our school system allowed kids to:

a) Create Anti-ICE protest signs inside of the schools
b) Exit the school grounds, often WITHOUT SUPERVISION by ANYONE
c) Stand along busy highways and scream "FUCK ICE" for a few hours

Most shockingly, it was clearly encouraged by the schools, by leadership, and by many of the teachers.

That was political activism.

It gets worse... for years Buncombe County has forced biological girls to deal with biological males (who call themselves trans) to enter into girls locker rooms and bathrooms.

This has been happening for years and no one dared to try to change or speak up until very very recently... that should tell you a lot about what the school leadership believes and their political bent.

There is an evil lie that I see being spread by many that have condemned our decision to homeschool.

That lie is this:

“Public schools are neutral. By homeschooling, you’re only exposing your child to one side.”

This is a grossly evil lie.

In fact, the opposite is happening.

Schools are not neutral institutions simply because they are publicly funded; every school day has a limited number of hours, and every lesson taught means another lesson isn’t.

There is a finite amount of time in school, everyone understands this, which means priorities matter.

Every hour spent discussing political activism is an hour that isn’t spent on reading, writing, mathematics, science, history, or civics.

So when schools increasingly prioritize activism, identity politics, or current political causes... something else inevitably gets pushed aside.

Guess what? That’s not neutrality, that’s a choice.

What so many parents continue to discover is that their child comes home with a head full of ideas about the world that are purely one-sided because that's all there was time for.

Nuance is lost because nuance is time-consuming.

Is there TIME for nuance when half the class cannot speak English and you're speaking into a translator?

Of course not.

A child who can chant but cannot argue the other side hasn't been educated, they've been conditioned and the conditioners always, ALWAYS believe they're doing the child a kindness.

3) I'm fairly confident that today's school system is not designed for boys at all, it's purely designed for girls.

I'll give an example.

One of the schools in my area noticed that boys were throwing pine-cones (calling them grenades) and playing with sticks (calling them guns and swords).

This made the girls in the class uncomfortable.

So the school banned the boys from playing with sticks or pinecones outside, saying that the boys were playing "violent games" and should stop.

One group's nature (the girls) became the rule.

The other group's nature (the boys) became an problem... and once you see it, you see it everywhere.

Classrooms rewards staying still, staying quiet, non-aggression, obedience.

So ask yourself honestly... if you designed an institution that graded children partly on their ability to sit motionless for six hours, who would you expect to win?

Girls, of course.

Boys "get into trouble" FAR more often than girls, and the "offenses" are things like being too aggressive, not staying in line, fidgeting, or being "defiant" for staying buried in a book instead of the worksheet.

The punishment schools reach for first is often to take AWAY recess, which is literally the physical release every study says he needs, as the penalty for needing it!

At my table, he can stand up when he needs to move. He can go deep on the thing that lights him up instead of being dragged off it. He can build his imaginary armies.

He can be exactly the boy he is and have that be an ASSET instead of someone saying that's a problem.

4) No teacher, no matter how gifted, no matter how well-meaning, walks into that classroom knowing my son the way we know him, and no one ever will.

The single most important qualification for teaching a child isn't a degree or a curriculum or a district budget..

...it's just how much do you actually care whether this SPECIFIC kid makes it?

How far would you go for him?
How late would you stay for him?
How many times would you explain it again and again?
How completely would you refuse to give up on him?

And on that measure, the whole world loses to his mother (who will be homeschooling him), it's not even close.

Nobody on earth will ever love him more than she does.

Nobody will study him, root for him, ache for him, and delight in him the way she does every ordinary day.

There has never been anyone on this earth more qualified to raise my son than the woman whose love for him knows no depths and has no end.

There is no need for additional laws for special interest groups. The constitution, if applied as intended is sufficient to treat all equally under the law. The special interests accretions do more harm than good. Equal standing for all citizens is already a foundational concept. The special interest legislation does nothing to improve it, rather it tends to undermine it and encourage devisiveness rather than unity.

The world has spent $7 trillion on wind and solar. That global fleet produces an average of around 630 GW.

The same $7 trillion could have built roughly 1,400 modern nuclear reactors, producing around 1,400 GW on average -- so more than twice the power.

Wind and solar generally last around 20 years (a lot less by some estimates), whereas nuclear plants can operate for 80 years or more.

Over 80 years, wind and solar must be built four times -- a cost of $28 trillion to maintain 630 gigawatts.

The same $28 trillion spent on nuclear would deliver roughly 5,600 gigawatts -- nearly nine times the power.

Also, nuclear produces this regardless of the weather, whereas wind and solar require 24-7 backup (usually gas, not included in these calculations).

Those of us bitterly opposed to communism fall into two different groups.

A) Those who argue that it must be abandoned because it has show us that it doesn’t work.

B) Those of us that are so bitterly opposed to collectivism applied to dissenting individuals that we are relieved that it *cannot* work. A happy accident. Communism and collectivism are intrinsically soul killing for people who are hyper-individualistic . So let’s stop hiding behind the fact that they don’t work as economic or governance systems.

Some of us who aren’t the biggest fans of naked capitalism red of tooth and claw, hate communism not because we think capitalism is intrinsically fair. It isn’t. We oppose it because communism hunts the individual.

For us, It’s not communism vs capitalism. That is a businessman’s argument. Instead, it’s communism vs individualism for me. Show me a system that fights harder to let a dissenting individual thrive more than brutal market capitalism (which also barely works), and I am all ears.

In the Lower 48, I was able to show that by extending the U.S. Drought Monitor back to 1901 using the self-calibrated Palmer Drought Severity Index (scPDSI), no statistically significant change has occurred in drought area or intensity:

🟢 D1 / Moderate Drought area: −10.8% over 1995−2024 minus 1901−30; p-value = 0.41
🟡 D2 / Severe: +0.05%; p = 1.00 (slight increase, but not statistically significant)
🔴 D3 / Extreme: −8.9%; p = 0.75

🌧️ There has been no increase in river flooding in the U.S. since at least 1960.

The map I attached below shows the change in the magnitude of U.S. river flooding since 1960. The triangle-shaped markers indicate the annual trend in peak river flows (cubic ft / sec) from 1960 to 2025 for all 425 USGS river and stream gauges that have 95% completeness over that time period. 5.2% of stations show a statistically significant increase in flooding and 5.9% show a significant decrease. The rest of the stations show no statistically significant change in either direction.

Flash flooding has increased in many urban areas, but that is largely due to poor city planning. When absorbent grassland and soil are paved over with asphalt and concrete, the land surface becomes impermeable, so any heavy downpour will inevitably cause more flooding than would have occurred in the past, despite any climatic trends.

While climate alarmists will argue that heavy rainfall events have increased (citing Clausius-Clapeyron as the physical basis), we are finding that a lot of rainfall data is missing from digitized weather records. When the original handwritten paper COOP or 1001 forms from the early 20th century are digitized into the ACIS sites, extreme values are often considered suspicious and eliminated, so they get marked as “Missing.” But if you read the notes, they will often note an afternoon thunderstorm that produced a heavy downpour. In Texas, for instance, it has been found that complete data turns an increase in Rx1day (i.e., heaviest annual 1-day rainfall per station) to a non-trend over the last 100 years.

Clausius-Clapeyron also says nothing about rainfall rates, much less total rainfall out of a given cloud, it only calculates equilibrium vapor pressure. Using it is not an appropriate extrapolation, especially over large land masses like the U.S.

🌀 U.S. hurricane and major hurricane (Category 3+) landfalls have not increased since reliable recordkeeping began in 1851. In fact, there is a slight, albeit not statistically significant decrease. I even extended records back to 1800, and there is no long-term trend. And of the top 15 strongest hurricanes to make landfall since 1851, ten of them occurred before 1975. And of those, seven were either in or before the year 1935.

Well, I have some news that's going to make some people uncomfortable...

My wife and I are pulling our youngest out of North Carolina public schools and my wife will be homeschooling him.

And no, we're not sorry about it.

We didn't come to this decision lightly. We prayed on it, argued about it, ran the numbers, lost sleep over it.

But every road led back to the same common theme: nobody on God's green earth loves that boy more than his mother and I do, and nobody is more responsible for who he becomes than us.

Yet, rather ironically, despite believing this somewhere along the way, we handed that responsibility to strangers and... trusted them with it.

His mind. His values. His time. His education. His TRUTH.

...and this past year, for the first time, we stopped and asked whether they'd earned that trust.

We don't think they did.

So we're taking it back.

Yeah, we're scared. Scared we'll get something wrong. Scared of the workload. Nervous about what people will say.

But I'll take the fear of us doing it ourselves over the quiet horror of watching our son be indoctrinated in utter BS woke nonsense and be laughed at for believing in God and mocked for liking President Trump (all of which occurred this year.

So yeah, he's going to read the hard books. The ones they'd rather he didn't.

He's going to learn history that hasn't been run through an anti-White woke filter.

He's going to know exactly where he comes from and what he believes.

Most importantly, he's going to grow up watching his mother choose him, to spend every day, all day with him, over what was easy.

They had their shot. They blew it.

Lloyd Burke, a lieutenant from Arkansas that everybody called Scooter, was done with Korea. His thirteen month tour was over. He was standing at the command post with his orders in hand and a plane waiting to fly him home. All he had to do was get on it.

Then word came back that his old company was stuck. G Company of the 5th Cavalry was trying to take a hill near Chong-dong and the Chinese had them pinned down cold, dug into bunkers, chewing the attack to pieces. The company was exhausted, bleeding, and going nowhere. Scooter Burke had a ticket out of the war in his pocket. He put it down and went forward to his men instead.

What he did next reads like something out of a movie that nobody would believe. The attack was stalled by three enemy bunkers, so Burke went after them himself. He charged the first one alone and killed the crew. He charged the second one alone and killed that crew too. At the third bunker he threw grenades in, and when the enemy threw their grenades back at him, he caught them and threw them right back before they went off.

Then he really got going. He grabbed a light machine gun, tore it off its mount, and started firing it from the hip as he walked into the enemy, carrying it in his arms like a rifle. He pulled the shattered company back together, got them up and moving again behind him, and led them up and over the hill.

By the time it was finished, Scooter Burke had personally killed more than a hundred of the enemy and been wounded doing it, and the hill that had stopped a whole company was taken because one man who was supposed to be on a plane home decided he could not leave.

And he lived. Burke got the Medal of Honor for it, stayed in the Army, and retired decades later as a full colonel with five Purple Hearts to go with the medal. The man who tore up his ticket home became a legend precisely because, when it counted, going home was the one thing he would not do.
