Vapor product PMTAs were due in September of 2020.
The FDA has issued a final rule outlining what those applications should entail... in October of 2021.
After removing millions of vapor products from the market for failing to fulfill those requirements.
Seriously.
The FDA has spent the past month banning the vapor products that their own data shows had nothing to do with the youth use/experimentation “crisis.” While leaving products on the market that teens do actually use. 🤔🤔
Perhaps even more importantly the 2020 disposable use by current youth users was 26.5% (up from 2.4% in 2019). The 2021 data on youth disposable use is 53.7% among youth users.
Strong evidence open system products aren’t the issue with teens. A fact the FDA ignores.
Golly🤔 I wonder if there’s a way to safely help people quit smoking? I would have sworn with all the trust I have in big pharma (especially these days with all the noble work they’ve been doing with vaccines for the good of the people.) this could never have happened.
The FDA has shown itself incapable of regulating the vapor industry, with neither the resources nor the backbone to make objective scientific decisions here. We shouldn’t have to pay for FDA’s shortcomings https://t.co/XUnLTd5gTq Time for some regulatory innovation.
@Alex_Norcia I had to step away for a bit for my own well being but it’s refreshing to see the troops still punching back. Ready to resume my previous state of constant rage.
I would rather get support from an upturned mop with a bucket on it's head than rely on ineffective and antiquated advice from @US_FDA
Don't you remember how text messaging drove US smoking rates to the lowest in recorded history? Oh no wait that was #vaping

There’s the rage… let it consume you.
