“I’m gonna go for a walk” = imma introduce a phenomenological break in my day where what was previously foregrounded might be backgrounded and solved there since somethings need awareness instead of attention to be successfully processed
This seems a good space to collect the compliments I receive. Today I got "I like lending you books because you actually read them, and then you return them"
Progress is slow. Growing plants takes time, and so does navigating bureaucracy, but in a very different way. It's the difference between complexity and complicatedness, I suppose
Almost a year later and the region finally approved new zoning, so we can properly design and submit a proposal now. We've hardly bought any vegetables during the summer, have 2 more hens now, and enrolled in a permaculture course
So I'm writing a whole-ass thread about what it is that makes some multiplayer games more toxic than others, primarily in terms of game design.
I'll just say, upfront, the most important thing is community management. Doing that can negate everything I'm gonna talk about.
@willlowthewhisp We don't have kids yet but my partner and I agreed we won't be sharing anywhere. For me, the warmth and intimacy I feel when I look at pics of my childhood is only to be shared with family or close friends. Anything more, I'd be uncomfortable with. He's more like 'what for'?
@michalkorzonek I love all the Labyrinthos ones (they have an app too), the illustrations are so pretty. I also appreciate my deck ❤️ here's a mini spread on my relationship w twitter (both reversed tho)
The neoliberal idea of 'pulling yourself up by your bootstraps' and creating wealth for yourself is so lonely and frail compared the strong base that solidarity and building a strong social fabric can provide
Optimise for touch! I add a variety of textures to make my meals more satisfying. I make bread, pasta to knead the dough. Two stacked yoga mats, quality leggings, good insoles for my shoes. A good hairbrush. The list goes on
@imhaileycoop So there are 3 scenarios, each with a 1/3 prob:
1) player chooses goat #1. monty chooses goat #2. Switching, player wins car.
2) player chooses goat #2. monty chooses goat #1. Switching, player wins car.
3) player chooses car. monty chooses goat. Switching, player finds goat.
@imhaileycoop The way I see it, we have to calculate the probability of winning-upon-switching (not just of winning) with the information we have from the start. The switching strategy leads to a car with a 2/3 probability – there is no need to recalculate based on new information.
