My kids were driving me nuts this morning so I told them if they go outside and water all the flowers on our street with their squirt guns I’d give them each TWO WHOLE DOLLARS! They’ve been doing it for over an hour. Best $4 I’ve ever spent!

There’s a lot to love about being a dad in the Summer, but my favorite is when my kids incessantly beg to have a water gun fight then absolutely self-implode the moment they get wet and I get to listen to them scream “THAT’S NOT FAIR” over and over at the top of their lungs.
Dads: I want a low-key Father’s Day.
Also Dads on Father’s Day: “HERE YE! HERE YE! ALL HAIL KING DAD OF HOUSE AWESOME!! FIRST OF HIS NAME, LORD OF THE LAWN, PROTECTOR OF SMALL HUMANS, KEEPER OF WIFI PASSWORDS, BREAKER OF WIND! LONG MAY HE REIGN! FETCH ME A COLD ALE, WILDLINGS!”
My wife flipped over one of my son’s kindergarten worksheets and noticed he wrote “I love mom” on the back of it...
“I write that whenever I feel sad.”
Moms are magic 🥲😭🤧🥰
My son had his heart broken at school today. He was crushed and even cried when telling us about it.
His best buddy at preschool didn’t want to play with him on the playground.
“Big deal” right? Wrong!
Little things in a little world are a big deal.
Empathize accordingly.
Bedtime is a parenting mind fuck. I’m at my wits end, my kids are fighting sleep, my downtime is just out of reach and I’m more likely to lose my shit than ever. I want to end our day peacefully but it’s, literally, the hardest time to stay calm and patient.
If being a dad has taught me anything, it’s that some of my worst days as a parent actually had nothing to with my kids... and everything to do with me.
Invest in your mental health. Get your mind right. When you prioritize your well-being, your whole family ultimately benefits.
Rage cleaning for men:
When you are so anxious before a big game you just start cleaning the house top to bottom so the environment is just right before kickoff because you are convinced it makes a difference in the outcome of the game.
It doesn’t take much to have fun with your kids. You don’t need a ton of toys or lots of money. Just some spare time, a little creativity, a lot of patience and a pocket full of Extra Strength Tylenol.
