- John claims to have stood at the foot of the cross and watched it happen (Jn 19).

- Marks Gospel is widely recognized as based on Peters testimony and eyewitness preaching.

- Paul met the actual eyewitnesses (Peter and James, Jesus own brother) and received the earliest creed about the crucifixion and resurrection (1 Cor 15)….a creed that even critical scholars date to within months to a few years of the event.

Roman historian Tacitus, Jewish historian Josephus and the Talmud all independently confirm He was executed under Pilate.
