For my degree's capstone, I conducted the first causal inference study estimating whether the 2024 Bitcoin halving caused the price surge, rather than merely correlating with it.

The method, co-developed by Prof. Alexis Diamond, enables researchers to test causal questions that can’t be randomized – such as policy events or, in this case, protocol halvings.

Causal inference + crypto = a lot of untapped research potential.
