1- Hamas often stated that it would hold elections and/or cede control to other parties. 3- Since its initial formation conference in 2006 and others, Hamas has declared that its objective is to liberate occupied Palestine and build the necessary military infrastructure. Due to widespread disapproval of Fatah and other opposition groups, Hamas rose to power. It was always obvious that Hamas had no intention of becoming a genuinely ruling body and that it was willing to delegate power to any other party that was unanimously approved or elected, which almost never happened.
