I don’t think people realise the magnitude of the damage this cancer of a club has caused across English football.

The ripple effect runs all the way down to the Championship and every level of the English football pyramid.

They’ve robbed clubs of titles, Champions League qualification, Europa League qualification, survival, prize money, sponsorships and revenue. They’ve robbed other players of honours.

They stole other clubs’ players by offering more money, higher wages and faux sporting success. They hijacked other clubs’ potential signings for the same reasons.

Man City’s state-backed takeover is the single worst thing to ever happen to English football.

No punishment will ever be enough to make up for the damage they’ve done. Not points deductions, not transfer bans, not fines, not even relegation to the National League.

Just make that club extinct. Wipe them from history and from the face of the earth.
