@AravSrinivas Perplexity with DeepSeek R1 is now my go to for everything :)

[Aravind Srinivas @AravSrinivas]

All DeepSeek usage in Perplexity is through models hosted in data centers in the USA and Europe. DeepSeek is *open-source*. None of your data goes to China.

Apple data privacy is top notch guys. After switching to iPhone, I’m getting bra ads from Zepto. Apple not even letting them know my gender 👍🏼

Debunking BS
Surgeon General declared ALL drinking=cancer. They can't read their own data!

Heavy drinkers, 7.2%, cause 75% of cancers.
Allora: Risk ratios are TINY for LIGHT drinkers, offset by a walk in the park listening to Rachmaninov.

Cheers!

Yeah I’m sorry Neymar is not part of the Top 3 anymore, it’s Messi Ronaldo and Salah.

@RaoSumukh It stems from cultural upbringing which says that one must have unwavering respect for elders and never question anything they do or say because it’s “disrespectful”

Shorts season is unfortunately over where I currently am. But I've always wondered why it's called a "pair" of shorts, even though it's a just a.. short?

Well the "short" answer is that clothing like trousers, pants, and shorts were originally made of two separate pieces—one for each leg—fastened together at the waist. This led to the practice of referring to them in pairs, much like we refer to items like gloves or shoes that come in twos.

Once the term "pair" became standard for pants or trousers, it extended to similar garments like shorts. As these are essentially shorter versions of pants, the same logic applied linguistically.

In essence, we still call them a "pair of shorts" because we're just too lazy to change the way we say it. And if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Rejection is hands down the best fuel for long term individual growth.

It is a great feedback mechanism to continuously introspect and improve things about your life (though rejection can certainly hurt in the moment).

@dhh It's only rewarding if you're a good parent. And A LOT of people won't be good parents.

If you’re truly ambitious you should want to have it all: lifestyle, family, work, health, hobbies. It’s not a pick one or two out of five. Pick all five.
