'Point Nemo' in the South Pacific Ocean is the furthest possible place you can be from land on the Earth's surface. It is also known as 'spaceship cemetery', because this is where hundreds of decommissioned satellites and spacecraft are sent to a watery grave.

Painting in progress … after the warm sky colors I layer on the darker cool tones. For skies, I find it best not to dwell on any detail and instead try to capture the large color shifts and movement.
