Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge mocks Hindu tradition with a lie dressed as logic.

His claim: “Kumkum is made out of kesar, 90% of kesar comes from Islamic countries. So will they stop wearing tilak?”

The fact: Kumkum is not made from saffron. It is traditionally made from turmeric treated with lime, or from other natural pigments. Saffron and kumkum are entirely different substances. A Home Minister spreading basic misinformation to mock a religious symbol is not wit, it is malice.

A Home Minister holds a constitutional post that demands neutrality across faiths. Instead Priyank Kharge chose to ridicule Hindu practice with a fabricated premise, something he would never dare attempt against any other religion.

On his Islamic countries remark, he conveniently ignores reality. Under PM Modi, India enjoys its strongest ever relationship with the Islamic world, from the Gulf to Southeast Asia. Modi has received the highest civilian honour from numerous Muslim majority nations, including Indonesia today. The only Muslim majority nations hostile to India are the two carved out of India itself, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Priyank Kharge is not building bridges, he is appeasing a home grown Jihadi vote bank by insulting the majority faith with false claims. A Home Minister spreading communal misinformation from a position of state power should be called out, not excused as “commentary.”

When a cow was struggling to deliver her calf, Santosh Alagur and his team rushed to the spot and safely assisted with the delivery. They later cared for the mother cow and provided her with food.

In a touching gesture, they can also be seen applying a protective black dot to the cow and calf, a traditional practice believed to ward off the evil eye.
