Enabling lay use of emerging technology. Preserving outdated digital and physical artifacts. Research, participatory design, facilitation, prototyping.
@danctheduck Like, maybe it's just as simple as, the commodification of skill as any profession matures means we teach people *how* to do and not *why* to do, and "why" is what the most senior people care about, so they're devalued and leave, idk idk
@genmon shades of Bret Victor's bookshelf, have you seen the video for that? It's wild to watch. Description from an Aeon article: https://t.co/qymnwQsadX
@rsnous I felt a lot like a video demonstrating Dynamicland (and Folk) concepts like that could have broader reach: https://t.co/QDR9pGYwfo (last post)
A bit akin to BERG's "Swiping through Cinema" or Timo Arnall's "Discursive design research through film"?
@genmon Bet if you can get someone to inspect the SSL cert when they see the error, it won't be your SSL cert, it'll be the cert of the corporate proxy they're sitting behind. It'll be an issue with their corporate IT blocking the hostname, e.g. https://t.co/pIEXR6fI6b
@cheeseplus I definitely Parsec both across the house and into cloud machines, but if it's an actual basement, you can't, like, extend your heat pipes to other, actual pipes? A steel beam? Into the slab?

@genmon Plus Gordon Bell all through the 2000s. At a Quantified Self conference, I had the chance to ask him about how often and when he revisited his conversations in MyLifeBits, and he said hardly ever, but others would come to him about conversations they had shared.
@maingauchegames I might be the only person playing on a Steam Deck, but I had to try multiple Proton versions to find one that would launch the game (3.16-9) and it hangs on exit. Also, the left thumbstick is oversensitive for aiming the laser, can't seem to turn less than 45°.
@intrcnnctd "I don’t have to be smart about a topic, I just have to have been keeping notes for longer than most people would think reasonable." Shades of: https://t.co/de7YqpwvvI
@tacolamp Just tried mine, but the Steam Deck (on Windows 10) wouldn't recognize the Tilt Five glasses at all until I plugged them into a powered hub. Were you able to get yours to work directly through the USB-C port?
