I joined Twitter 12 years ago and have enjoyed using it. However, over the recent couple of years, it's become flooded with spammy ads and bots. I've decided it's time to say goodbye.
I'll be over at Threads.

Main thing we've learned from the history of psychiatry is that we learn nothing from it & keep making same mistakes:
1)Recurrent diagnostic fads
2)Neglecting the most impaired
3)Overreacting the least impaired
4)Funding too much "cool" research & too little to really help people
The GP crises from rural procedural practice to large urban centres —patients access to the excellence of primary care is diminishing.
Whether it’s insufficient workforce
Or Insufficient Medicare insurance
It’s been a long time coming
Time to reinvest in quality GP systems
Nearly one fifth of GP training places in Northern Ireland unfilled
Around the world this appears to be happening perhaps consider a result of disrespect & lack of understanding of expert Generalism
Ongoing costs to all follow a lack of investment in GP https://t.co/ICQGJd6oIW
Couldn't agree more. Much more must be done to help people with ADHD. GPs can play a more significant role in diagnosis and treatment to improve affordability and access to care. Change is needed ASAP, this must be a priority. #ADHD https://t.co/jQLqhxmSTh

This sort of research funding nightmare is all too common in Australia. There is simply no reason that any private company should be given $33mil in limited research funds through an opaque, non-competitive process https://t.co/ljaEt9YhDX

OPINION | It's time to retire Australia's persistent “dole-bludger” myth as the robodebt report makes clear that it is public servants and policymakers that are the real threats to our welfare system #robodebtrc#auspol

@drvyom The scattergun approach to testing is the worst way of applying investigations. Doing tests on people with a low pre-test risk for the condition produces far too many false positives and too many chases down rabbit holes. Good clinical medicine starts with a thorough history.
We didn’t let a bit of windy weather stop us. A proud moment to stand side by side with chair of the @RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healthcare faculty Dr Karen Nicholls in Mackay today and announce the College’s official support for the Voice. #Voice
Commissioner Catherine Holmes has not let Scott Morrison off the hook & given him a huge whack in her #Robodebt Report saying he
“allowed Cabinet to be misled” & “FAILED to meet his ministerial responsibility”💥🔥🔥 Whilst we’ve said it many times, he really must Resign Now.
Some of the best scientists and the brightest people I know are GPs. And no one becomes a GP because they couldn’t specialise; General Practice is one of the most demanding areas of medicine (in fact it IS a specialty) and it attracts some of the very best.
