@FootballCliches I know the Mexican weren't really whipping in their crosses, but that first one literally looked like the moon falling out of the sky.
@FootballCliches I'm sure I'm late to the party on this, but this pre-match discussion with Bobby Charlton on the BBC coverage is the first time I've seen the 'centre circle spider shadow' from anything other than the main TV camera view. For some reason I thought it would be higher than it is?
@cobyhewitt1@DPJHodges 54% win percentage as captain. England had won 1 of 17 Tests immediately before Stokes took over as captain. So fair to say England improved a bit under him
@Nick_Metcalfe@TalkingSnooker You know me...I hibernate for 348 days of the year, emerge for the Crucible, and then return to my bunker after Bank Holiday Monday. Hope all is well with you, chief
@nickgoff79 I'm a stickler for nostalgia/tradition, but the first day of the semi-finals is basically redundant. I actually agree with turning them into best of 25.
@tiff_tv Clarifying this earlier tweet, as I just read that apparently there was a "malfunction" which meant that Kimi's on-board wasn't available out of Spoon. That's very unfortunate timing
@tiff_tv The regs will inevitably change, but not before Max is on a sabbatical and Lewis/Fernando are off into the sunset. The worst part is the cover-up - look at Kimi's pole lap on YouTube, they switched from on-board to off-board heading into 130R & no throttle/brake graphics at all.
@Mykuhl It is a fair point though. NZ just happened to be the most recent example. There's just too much cricket, full stop. Whether it's franchise, or county/district/state, or international. I know it sounds nostalgic but the game I loved as a kid in the 1990s feels a world away now.
@Alex_Berwick Villa are not as bad as they were in Aug-Sep and not as good as they were Nov-Jan. The reality is somewhere in the middle, which would probably end up being 7th or 8th after 38 games. We will be overachieving to finish in the CL; this is the Gerrard-era squad plus Rogers.
@JackAV_6@TheVillaPodcast Poorly handled is mild. Crazy that the club put itself & Elliott in this position. Now we're carrying a lad who won't play, can't be recalled to L'pool, can't be transferred bc he's played for 2 PL clubs, & has lost a chance to go to the WC (slim but possible). Just bad all round
@JackAV_6@TheVillaPodcast agreed. I think if he'd hit the ground running then it might be different, but the problem with the clause being activated after 10 games (10!) is it hardly gives a player the chance to prove themselves, especially for a details manager like Unai
@JackAV_6@TheVillaPodcast yeah hard one to call. After Monchi left, maybe they all sat down and decided Elliott wasn't going to work out (which is why he's not even on the bench). Unai has been unusually critical of him though, I think if he really rated him then the club would back him with the 30mil.
