November’s @RailwayMagazine is on shelves today. Packed, as usual, inc a feature on the Blackpool Heritage Tram fleet and Rigby Rd depot, ‘on shed’ at Llangollen, latest on the @Vivarail@GWRHelp Greenford battery unit plan and ambitious Darlington-Dales @WeardaleRailway bid..
I dropped by a soggy Bletchley station this afternoon to see a @Vivarail Class 230 (converted from redundant London Underground D78 Stock) in action. This was 230003, on 2S21 to Bedford https://t.co/CuiixXgFba
Last week, Vivarail had the pleasure of welcoming our friends & colleagues from State Railway Thailand to discuss the benefits of #battery technology and how we can potentially collaborate on #decarbonisation.
Great article by Steve McBride, MD of Vivarail, in Future Rail discussing the important role #batterypower can play in achieving #netzero for the #rail industry.

Great day at the @railforum_uk Annual Conference.
From gaining insight into discussions on sustainable upgrade paths through to positive opinions on viable zero-emission solutions it's clear the #decarbonisation of the #rail industry remains a hot topic... And rightly so!
@Vivarail 3 car test bed unit, 230001 is seen at Bedford working a test run from Bletchley as 5Z23 1121 Bletchley T.M.D. to Bletchley. This unit is fully battery operated. Its due to be heading down to London at some point to do testing on the Greenford branch

Time flies! It’s nearly been a whole year since Vivarail launched our #batterytechnology to the global market at #COP26, with a dedicated battery powered #train used to transport delegates and VIPs to and from the conference.
Here’s a few of our favourite images from the day.
First trip to the Isle of Wight since the line reopened last year. Like the new @Vivarail 484's, definitely a vast improvement over the old 1938 ex Underground stock. Doors are a bit slow to open but otherwise really impressed.
Kicking off the afternoon is a panel discussion.
The rolling stock required to achieve decarbonisation – what technologies are available and how viable are they as options?
Led by Julian Fletcher @Vivarail, Dave Hatfield at G Volution, and Simon Jarrett @chilternrailway.
.@Vivarail aims to be a world-class innovator and provider of zero-emission mobility solutions for the benefit of future generations. https://t.co/OHg7K76O6U
Our MD, Steve McBride, recently sat down with @BusinessFocus_ to provide insight into Vivarail’s journey to date, incl. the development of our own #batterytechnology, which enables existing diesel #trains to be easily converted to battery operation quickly and cost-effectively.
