Marlon Brando once told Dick Cavett that everyone on Earth is an actor.
Then he proved it, live on air, by dissecting Cavett himself.
It remains one of the most disarming exchanges in talk show history.
Cavett opened by pressing Brando on something he had read for years: that Brando considered acting "not a fit profession for a man." Brando deflected at first. "We can't believe the press; I don't know what we can believe in this country."
But then, in his words, "in an effort to help your ratings," Brando laid out his real view of acting:
"I think that we couldn't survive a second if we weren't able to act; acting is a survival mechanism, a social lubricant, and we act to save our lives every day."
People lie constantly, he explained. By not saying what they think. By showing something they don't feel. By trying to give the appearance of feeling something they don't actually feel.
Cavett pushed back: "But that's not acting."
Brando disagreed:
"That is acting. When you're nervous or frightened in this chair, or distressed and angry, you know that is not what is necessary to be shown here, so you control your face. You're a highly controlled person and you have to do that."
Cavett argued there had to be gradations. He was motivated in the moment, but he couldn't wake up the next morning and repeat that same performance on command, take after take. Surely that skill, the thing Brando did better than almost anybody, was something different.
Brando refused the compliment. He pointed to the office worker who hates his boss but performs enthusiasm for his "impossible notions" day after day to keep his job.
Cavett countered that delivering the same line six times, getting "something deeper into it time after time," takes an actor. Everyday performances are one-time things with immediate motivation.
"No, they're not one-time things because it's a daily procedure," Brando replied. "The dialogue changes but the motivation doesn't."
Then came the moment the interview is remembered for. Brando turned the lens directly on his host:
"Right now, you're thinking of 60 things at once: 'Is it getting dull? Is he upset? Is he bored? Is he offended? Here's a good time for a joke.' You're doing this editing at an insane rate with a demeanor of levity and zest, and that finally isn't what goes on in your mind or feelings at all."
Cavett's response said everything:
"I just feel like all my clothes have been taken off."
Brando softened it. "I couldn't do what you do, and that's a different kind of acting; you're playing a different kind of role."
Cavett tried one final test. He handed Brando a commercial script and challenged him to read it, any way he wanted. Brando refused flatly: "No, I won't do it."
Cavett's closing line: "I'm glad you didn't. The man's incorruptible, and that's what I hoped."

Graham Hancock: “Myths and scriptures from all around the world record a gigantic cataclysm.”
“The Flood of Noah is one example.”
“Plato’s story of Atlantis is another.”
“It remembers a global flood that wiped out a former era of existence.”
“Leaving only a few survivors.”
“This is the memory bank of our species.”
“This is the only record we have of a period before 6,000 years ago.”
“A very important academic study was published in the 1960s.”
“A book called Hamlet’s Mill by Giorgio de Santillana … and Hertha von Dechend.”
“They found encoded in those myths numbers and imagery that could only relate to one thing.”
“An obscure astronomical phenomenon called the precession of the equinoxes.”
“To observe it and to record it … involves very precise astronomical observations maintained over a very long period of time.”
“Hundreds of years at least.”
“There are ancient maps that show the world as it looked during the Ice Age.”
“The [theory] that I find most persuasive is called the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis.”
“About 20,000 years ago, a very large comet came in from deep space and went into orbit around the sun.”
“A comet of the diameter of 100 kilometers, maybe 200.”
“Once comets are caught by the gravitational field of … a sun, they start to break up into multiple parts.”
“This is what happened to the Younger Dryas comet.”
“It became thousands and thousands of objects, of which we’ve cataloged quite a lot.”
“12,860 years ago, approximately, the Earth went into a storm of these fragments.”
“They found it in the west coast of North America.”
“They found it in Belgium.”
“They found it as far east as Syria.”
“Most of it is blowing up in the air.”
“An airburst from an object that might be 100 meters in diameter is equivalent to a very substantial nuclear blast.”
“Their argument is the Earth was hit by a comet storm.”
“12,800 years ago … the Earth was coming out of the Ice Age.”
“For maybe 2,000 years before that, the Earth had been getting warmer.”
“You would normally expect that to continue.”
“But then … the Earth suddenly goes back into a massive deep freeze.”
“This is the time when all the famous big animals of the Ice Age … are wiped out.”
“The woolly mammoths.”
“The mastodons.”
“The giant sloths.”
“Most important of all is a very mysterious sea level rise that occurs then.”
“The comet theory explains it perfectly.”
“The impact, the heat, the airbursts, that would have been enough to send the ice sheets into meltdown and to cause this pulse of meltwater.”
“Then the freeze sets in.”
“And then 11,600 years ago, it suddenly warms up.”

Filippo Biondi says that the Great Flood, the Zep Tepi, and the pyramids are all connected.
The Italian space engineer just told Joe Rogan that the seawater salt still stuck to the walls inside the Great Pyramid proves the entire area was flooded thousands of years ago. That same salt is the evidence that ties everything together with Zep Tepi.
"Inside the pyramids, they found a lot of salt on the walls."
"Two months ago, I went for the first time to visit the pyramids, and I found salt on the wall."
Rogan: "So you think that that salt is because the entire area was flooded?"
Biondi: "Yes."
Rogan: "And that’s the reason why the shafts were flooded and filled with debris?"
Biondi: "Yes."
Rogan: "Because everything just flooded into there, and then when the sea receded … you’re left with salt everywhere."
"John Anthony West thought maybe 30,000+ years to the construction of the Sphinx."
"And the water erosion [on the Sphinx], it’s vertical fissures that come from thousands of years of rainfall."
"And the last time there was like significant rainfall in the Nile Valley like that was 9,000 years ago."
Biondi: "That’s why this research … it is very important."
Rogan: “It would really rewrite everything.”
This means the pyramids were built sometime between Zep Tepi and the Great Flood, which could push their age back dramatically.
The salt on the walls is ocean salt from when the sea rushed in over 11,000 years ago and filled the shafts with debris.
Biondi is convinced this changes everything we thought we knew about ancient history.
Graham Hancock argues that psychedelics and shamanism are the hidden foundation of every civilization and that Ayahuasca delivers a raw moral reckoning most people aren’t ready for.
“All civilizations, including ours, although we may deny it, all of them emerged from shamanism. Shamanism is the essence of the human adventure.”
“Psychedelics are the most efficient way to enter the altered state of consciousness.”
“Ayahuasca is a very clever technology. The Ayahuasca brew contains DMT… The Ayahuasca vine contains a chemical that shuts that enzyme down and allows the DMT to be absorbed orally producing an experience that can last for hours.”
“With experienced use of Ayahuasca, one of the very common reports is this moral dimension that you are presented with your own life… with the pain that you may have caused to others. And suddenly that pain that you caused to another person… You suddenly get it from their point of view. You feel the agony that your words caused that person.”
“You suddenly see what you are. You can’t go back into your own past and change negative and useless and pointless things that you did… but you can avoid repeating them in the future.”
“It’s helped me to come to terms with my tendency to swift anger… I’ve become gentler and softer. Not gentle enough, maybe. It’s a journey. It’s not an overnight transformation. Not a magic pill.”
“The main work with Ayahuasca comes after the medicine. The main work comes with what you do with the experience, how you integrate it into your life.”
Graham Hancock just declared: “There’s definitely something underneath the Great Pyramid … ”
“Some of it’s been picked up with ground-penetrating radar.”
“Filippo Biondi is saying there are enormous structures under the Khafre Pyramid.”
“That go hundreds of feet deep.”
“That involve spiral kind of stairways.”
“Archeologists say it’s impossible.”
“And they won’t look at it.”
“I think that’s shameful for people who imagine they’re scientists.”
“They should be looking further.”
“I’d like to see the technology trialed in Turkey.”
“There are underground cities in Turkey, Kaymakli, for example.”
“We know every room in those underground cities.”
“Run this technology on them.”
“If they accurately reproduce what we already know is there, then we can be pretty sure they’re accurately reproducing what’s under the Giza pyramids.”
“I remain open to the notion that a huge underworld awaits discovery under Giza.”
“The ancient Egyptians themselves felt that way.”
“They felt that Giza, the ancient name for it was Rostau, was an entrance to the underworld.”
“They saw it as an entrance to the afterlife realm.”
“It makes sense that there would be underground structures there.”

Graham Hancock just dropped a devastating blow to mainstream archaeology with the Great Pyramid of Giza.
“It’s a 6 million ton monument… more than 2 million individual blocks of stone.”
“The Great Pyramid is aligned within 3/60ths of a single degree to true north… on a 6 million ton monument.”
“It sits almost exactly on latitude 30 which is 1/3rd of the way between the north pole and the equator.”
“And it incorporates the dimensions of the earth on a scale of 1 to 43,200 in its own dimensions.”
“So if you take the height of the Great Pyramid and multiply it by 43,200… you get the polar radius of the earth. Measure the base perimeter of the Great Pyramid… multiply it by the same factor, 43,200, and you get the equatorial circumference of the Earth.”
“Archaeologists know this. They say it’s a coincidence, total coincidence, just by chance.”
“However, I could agree with them actually if the scale was not 1 to 43,200. But the fact that it’s 1 to 43,200 changes everything because that belongs to a sequence of numbers that is found in ancient mythology all around the world… multiples of the number 72… derive from… the precession of the equinoxes.”

Graham Hancock "I have no idea how the pyramids were built"
“To be honest, I have no answer to that question. And anybody who tells you that he or she knows how the pyramids were built are not telling the truth, because we don’t know. We don’t know.”
The Great Pyramid is locked into the cardinal dimensions of our planet… its height × 43,200 = Earth’s polar radius, its base perimeter × 43,200 = Earth’s equatorial circumference.
“This is why I’m forced to consider the possibility of a lost civilization in the human story.”
